  • How could anyone say it better?

  • you and I rule the world, a song for love, this is beauty

  • Love this song. So positive and inspirational.

  • i wish i could have seen this live!! Very Good Love Song! Bad Lonnie Lokey424

  • Lonnie and Donald's music is just outstanding and i am truely grateful to them for lighting up my world.

I have been a massive fan from my teenage years and i am now 42 and they still take me to higher grounds.

I saw him at the Jazz cafe, London and he had such an amazing aura about him but listening to his music it wasn't unexpected.

  • Great music and the lyrics are poetry.

  • yes yes yes....take me awaaayyyyy................to that tropical island...frolicking in the waves.... life is good for as long as this song lasts....sigh

  • Truly beautiful

  • Sounds like a song i'd play with my suntop off driving to my daycation destination in the Front Ranges of Colorado during a summer afternoon. I'm only 22 but I appreciate and prefer older music.

  • I've been looking for this cut. I walk around sing,"The breeze feels so harm, holding you in my arms, overlooking the land and the sea." I knew that they were the lyrics to Donald Smith. I just didn't know which song.. Thanks and I still walk around singing it :)

  • I saw him in Carnegie Hall in January 1976 and would love to see him again. He is one of the few musicians whose work never got stale. He is just as fabulous today as he was 30 years ago. I wish the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival would get him one of these years instead of such non-jazz trashers as Kid Rock, Bon Jovi and --- God forbid! -- Tom Jones.

  • this is my favorite Lonnie Liston Smith Jam with his brotha Donald killing it on vocals

  • Close your eyes and just listen to this song. You will drift off to another world with a beautiful woman dancing among the stars. There should be an extended version of this song. Thank you Lonnie for your talent..............Thanks you all you music posters...Thank you YouTube....LOL.......!!!!!!!!!

  • The Cosmic Echoes.

  • Beautiful song. Thanks LamontCJ. This reminds me of the only thing you had to worry about was skipping school, and your neighboor seeing you. LOL.

  • love this track. that flute and bass are so warm!!

    real music!!!!

i have a different LP cover

  • I had a different cover too...This is an all time classic. I lost my collection of 4500 lps....and never knew some of the classics i had are right here available...again. Its also nice to be amongst true...enthusiasts. Maleman_1

  • sounds painful! i felt like i got stabbed when i read ya lost a collection of 4500. what the hell happened? i'm hurtin for u.

  • This is some of the best of the best...Lonnie Liston Smith with Friends

  • Beautiful, what a lovely classic melody.

Lonnie has such a great writing and playing style and Dons voclas are top class.

    Dave

  • I have every one of LLS LPs on vinyl! I was just a teen when my cool uncle enlightened me to this fabulous Morgan State alum. I think I will have transfer them all to CD. I find it amazing how the sound is current as of today's date and fortunately cannot be duplicated. LLS and the Cosmic Echoes are classic!!!

  • HIGH5

  • Who needs to have to listen to knucklehead radio stations that really suck these days???? Thank you YouTube for offering these great tunes from the past and to the guys who post them. Great music will live forever as long as there is YouTube....Peace all...

  • I couldn't have said it any better myself and i DEFINITELY "second that emotion" and i too want to give much thanks to EVERYONE who has posted the GREAT music on you tube and also has been patient with me when I ask for song titles etc. THANKS TO YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @lovethediscogirls When you hear songs like this you have to feel sorry for the rest of the world who have never had an inkling of an idea that such beautiful music exists and that this is such a different experience than the trash on the rotational playing radio stations. I think the best thing I did musically in my life was turn off commercialised radio in my teens. Roll on X-Factor, killer of musical taste and bastion for the misguided musical halfwits!

  • sampledby jazz addixx say jazzy

  • Beautiful song.

    Mr. Chip's

  • Wow!! It would be nice to make a trip to NY to check him out. Thanks for the heads up. You seem to be a good patron of the music and I salute you for your good taste, Bravo!

  • I saw the fabulous Donald Smith last night (November 2, 2008)in Harlem. He sounds the same, ethereal, lifting, and incomparable as ever. It was fantastic! He is currently performing at St. Nick's Pub located on St Nicholas and 147th Street 7:30 every Friday. He is also an excellent musician! The guys he plays with are fabulous also.

  • Thanks for the update on DS, was wondering what was happening with him. Back in the day, he and Lonnie just blew away the west coast (Los Angeles) and northern California with their soulful performances.

  • YESS!! Love this song

  • I love EVERY SINGLE SONG by LLS

  • this is a very nice cut from the 'renaissance' lp. it would be nice to hear mardi gras also from this lp.

what i like about this piece is his mastery on the piano---he shows it in all his music, but this one is an excellent example of well he plays it in a ballad.

  • lonnie rules!

  • great tune....

  • Indeed, Lonnie's music with the Cosmic Echoes were complete with the beautiful voice of Donald Smith to round out the distinctive sound that we have grown to love and cherish.

  • @LamontCJ

As we stand here alone as we sing our sweet song of love classic!

  • I was drawn to this piece because of my love of Lonnie but was also reminded,as always, of the beautiful vocals of Donald Smith..his voice makes me cry..England 2008

  • His voice definitely made the sound complete. Check out "Beautiful Woman" and "Colours of the Rainbow" to further support his great contribution to the Cosmic Echoe sound.

  • I'll second that I was in England in 1980 grad of RAF Lakenheath this musik is superb and Mr. Donald Smith's vocals just lifting.
