@XxFrenchie07 rangers are the spec ops of the US army so yeah, i think they have to do it. normal para jump is part of the ranger basic training. after the green hell(20 day long training in the jungle), the last part of the basic training the rangers get more training in many things like sniping and diving. one of them is HALO jump

@starrevan38 You are kinda right. There is a difference between Rangers and SF though. Rangers don't HALO or HAHO unless under special circumstances but I don't think they learn it in Ranger School. Army SF does train for HALO and HAHO though. They would be the ones that would most likely do these jumps. I'm going to jump school after BCT and AIT and maybe attend RIP and Ranger School to join the 75th Ranger Regiment if I can get in.

@XxFrenchie07 Special Forces tend to be the only ones that qualify for HALO pay with any frequency. The idea behind HALO is not to be visible very long. A parachute floating down from 8-9 thousand feet can draw unwanted attention. So the answer is No.Rangers just para jump.

As an SF Airborne Ranger, I can say we do HALO jumps... So do Green Berets. I've never heard of marines doing HALO jumps... and PJs used T10s and did regular jumps (not HALO jumps), from what I've seen.
