I remember this EFF test case where you wouldn't produce your ID. I also recall that the EFF lawsuit failed in the Federal Courts -- which wasn't surprising to me since I realize the highly politicized nature of the Federal Courts. If they'd been following Constitutional law, EFF would have won the case hands down.
