I believe that the compartment under the esc in the nose is where the battery goes there is a notch cut in for the wires The ESC goes in the compartment over the battery compartment ...
Using the same balancer i checked the park zone corsair. using the oem battery and 2 1/2 inches back for this plane, it is EXTREMELY tail heavy. I use Turnigy nano tech's 2.2 that is a much heavier battery and the plane is still tail heavy. I will be uploading a video showing this. I place .35 cents on the nose just to bring it being past tail heavy. Adding that much weight to the nose including the heavier battery would have to indicate "you MUST check CG before flying a RTF Park zone.
damn good video bud! This should be mandatory for anybody buying a parkzone plane-(mainly this plane) to watch IT WILL SAVE YOU A LOT OF GRIEF- I KNOW!!
This is my most used tool out of all my rc stuff and a must for any one using your fingers are fine for a ruff guide but just turning up and flying or wasting 30 mins or more crashing and trimming i know which i would rather be doing !!!!!
Nice video. I just got this machine in the mail, I havn't opened it yet. I set a plane up yesterday and found myself balancing it on my fingers again. I'm wondering if I wasted my money on this device and if I should have just kept using my fingers. What do you think the benefit is? THanks :)
great video; thank you. you save people money from possibly damaging their planes in flight. i mean all that hard work only to find the plane was tail heavy the hard way. i've ordered one of these things and you are right about flying tail heavy planes and the problems you can have. thank you again.
@bloodhound122 the plane wont balance with all the weight on top .. it wants to flop over .. its best to have all of the weight on the bottom . and the plane will sit still .right side up or down it balances the same. its a process youd have to go throuhg to understand it .. hope your flying days are great ... Randy
I just watched your vid-great. My PKZ 109 needed the battery moved forward 3/4 inch and a 1 oz. nose weight put in the air scoop. It shot straight up on the maiden take off and was impossible to control. After the modification she tracks like a champ. Seems like all the ME109 vids I've seen varifies the point. This plane NEEDS to be a little nose heavy to fly and land nicely. Thanks for posting the exellent vid!
Yeah i'm the same as ieatsrt and made mine out wood and dowels but i have never seen this bad boy before and i'm on the hunt for it now lol,so thanks for sharing man and great video = 5*
but it flew just great on the test flight and I've flown it twice since then and still great. I have heard often a bit nose heave is no worries but like you say tail heavy and she could be game over really quick!
Hey Randy great vid! I built a balancing machine out of wood and dowels with some foam on the end of the dowels for cushin.. and them measure with tape. It isn't near as good as this one but is better than nothing. Actually I was looking at this one just the other day and now you've convinced me to buy one. I mark all my batteries for all my planes so I know where COG is. My T28D remains nose heavy about the same degree as this one. I refuse to add tail weight as it is already over 3lbs

Thanks for putting this up. I was about to buy this exact balancer as the fingertip method is getting old for sure.
