I just recently purchased a Parker sonett, and I'm having problems with the ink flow. When I start writing the ink flow usually won't start until midway through my first letter or at the start of the second. I was wondering if you or anyone else could give me some advice on this matter. I've only had the pen for 4 days so I don't know if I'm still breaking in the nib or should I have it sent back to Parker for readjusting.
The sonnet is a lovely pen. Had the misfortune of misaligning the tines but they are reset after some deliberation and the pen writes beautifully. You need no pressure and the pen is most smoothest when you arent rough with it.
I actually hated Parker after I had 3 bad experiences with 3 different Latitudes. But one day I was on eBay and saw a Sonnet for just $20 with like 8 packages of ink. I decided to give it a shot, and the pen is probably the best investment I've ever made. It writes so soft and smoothly, like it glides across paper so nice. It also came in a medium tip in black and gold: the exact style I would've chosen.
Do you or does anyone reading this have a Parker Vector Fountain Pen and / or a Cross ATX Chrome Pen .. if yes would you please do a review. please and thankyou the Vector sells for 23 the ATX Chrome sells for 60-70. ..
sorry i know im a bit late on the response...thanks for answering my question.
If a sonnet were to come mis aligned is there any way to align it back to where it should be?? and how...is there any chance of you making a video to teach us...pen lovers with no experience?
Best thing to do when a pen you bought is misaligned is to get it replaced using warranty and your receipt. Sonnets are lovely pens when they work well, but unfortunately the quality control is not great.
If you still want to try aligning yourself, you can use a strong magnifying glass, and align by pushing up or down using your thumbnail. But it is risky if you are not careful.
Well, I do love the Sonnets but there is a number of people that hate them. The pen is controversial. Much of it comes from the early version when the nibs were softer and easily misaligned and because of the famous problem with the cracked inner cap that made the pen to dry out quickly.

Hello azavalia1 I would have a question.Only the Terracotta edition has a semiflex nib or all sonnets do I have one Laque black but I did`t wanted to force it until I known that is safe to do it because this pen is very special to me .Please answer.
Thank you for answering .Sorry I`m not to familiar whit fountain pen terms .I`m using a an oblique dip pen for my calligraphy. But these kind of vintage pens are really good to write with .
I enjoy watching your fountain pen testing videos. Your penmanship is beautiful. Please upload more and tell us how you like and dislike the pens that you use.
Just buy a few calligraphy books and copy. It's not easy, though. I can't write like that. But the first thing you will need is a decent fountain pen with a good nib.
I also notice that you seem to be using quite a bit of pressure as you write, is that the correct technique for this type if Pen!!!!

"Most" Sonnets have soft nibs (not semiflex).
So you should be careful.
