He made those specs to make sure you can grab the right thing in an instant without rooting around in a heap of other stuff. So its one calculator, not two, six pencils instead of 14.

Jamie could initiate a 5S program where one step is to mark locations for every object that is needed in these stations to keep them organized. Every object has a place and everything is in its place. It seems anal but the best organizations run with these kinds of programs in place and can turn a poorly run shop into one of the best.
