Watch Jeremy Clarkson's "powered up" DVD. Jeremy has a lotus f1 driver corners a gtr at a much faster speed than the gt2 rs. The gt2 rs spun out in the video.

This races. There are a lot of twists and turns. That's why the gtr won. And if you watch previous "best motoring" where Porsche cars have transmission issues. Lamborghini overheats during races. Etc. I wish they have subtitles. These drivers actually admit if they messed up or it's the faulty vehicle.

The problem with cars that have a manual transmission is that there's no room for error. The GT2RS may have been able to get a better lap than the GT-R, but there could be no missed shifts or wrong shifts.

None of these cars has a chance against the GT2, the only reason why it came out 2nd is because out of the few seconds they put the cockpit view of the GT2 the dude is missing gears like a girl. Then, and I am a Ford guy, but the 430 doesnt have a chance just to stay close to the ZR1. But the most ridiculous part of it is a GTR coming up first. @migueford well if you watch carefully the gt2 has very little traction compared to a car with 4wd or a car with weight at the front rather than the back. also when you lose traction the rear wheels spin resulting the engine to rev up quickly. the driver was simply trying to regain the control. also i do believe it was a cold day so it's alot more difficult to change gears on a manual with foot operated clutch rather than having a paddleshit gearbox

@enjoi543 The reason being is the guy who drove the Corvette ZR1 was Jim Mero a professional Corvette engineer also had more exsperiance driving a ZR1 than anyone else. Jim Mero also in total had over 1,500 laps exsperiance around the Nurburgring. He remarked that it took him about 50 to feel comfortable. He was actually picked over the professional racecar drivers that drive the C6R's. He was definietly the best guy for the situation. Plus the ZR1 had super slick tires over the GTR's wet lap.

Problem with a lot of these races is that they turn off all electronic aids to the car which some cars like the ferrari etc use to make them faster (such as E-Diff etc). The reason why the GTR wins these races is that you can't totally turn off the electronic aids cause they are always on. As such, it gives the car an unfair advantage over the other road cars. Its a great car don't get me wrong but Bestmotoring always have been biased in their reviews. The ZR1 should not be that slow, nor gt2.

Everyone's comments here are stupid. All the drivers are professional racers, though some have more experience than others (Tsushiya having more than any in the field). 1. The drivers in the corvette and the porsche have never really driven the cars because they aren't very popular in Japan. On the other hand since these cars are expensive they can't push them to their max to save hitting each other. Also when racing behind another car, there is less downforce making it harder to corner.
