But I'm striving to make a better combat experience than just hack in slash. Nothing wrong with anime art. I love anime art it's very nice looking.

@Ritsuioko23 I'm just curious, but why move to Japan to try and make one of these games? Unless you're Japanese, it might be better to hit up a studio here and then make it excellent enough to be translated over to there (much like games here are from Japan). There are many studios to join, which may or may not be connected to a publisher (you'll want a publisher to go big, versus no publisher = indie style game). I am going into illustration and graphic design and want to work for Valve someday

@Ritsuioko23 japanese make the best platformers and fighting games imo but it ends there. can't really get into their writing style. cultural thing i guess. i find that western developers have more creative leeway and that allows a deeper gaming experience (exluding shit like COD). japanese developers on a wide scale rehash a lot of tired mechanics and anime art styles. game design is also too linear. jrpgs are a prime example. i need to see more innovation from japan.
Another example of broken reviews. If you rate a title with less characters and less content a 9.5 how can you rate that same title now a 8.5 with the additional content? The original title should perhaps not have scored as high as it did or was it simply the originality of that title that increases the score? I understand that with the era of DLC we expect more from sequels but maybe IGN reviews should consider their original review scores on these titles.

The people playing in the background kinda suck. I don't think I saw a single player land a combo finisher, they just kept dropping them halfway through and then forgetting to block.
My favourite fighter of all time, have it for PS3, PSP and 3DS and I STILL play it everyday. Put a total of 500 hours into this game in total, I LOVE IT SO MUCH.

I played the guiltiy gear franchise several years ago... far to stunning grafics back then, was the first 2d with nice grafics for my eyes.
Ppl who liked this game, i will also recomend u to try out "Umineko Ougon Musou Kyoku" tho is a game with just a few characters... the animation, and the characters are beautiful. The gameplay is nothing new either, but is fun to play :)

What is it with peoples' infatuation with Street Fighter's animations? The characters look like plush dolls and the attacks look like a kid is swinging said plush doll by its neck and kicking around another plush doll. Blazblue's animations are unrivaled in 2d fighters.

@ADHDrenaline It's a good story, plus the controls are easy as hell, with inclusion of shortcuts for those beginners. You don't have to memorize thirty-eight thousand combos and you can pick up and play. The only real problem with the controls are that some of the finals are hard to do quickly and/or properly. The exceptions are Rachel, Tao, Ragna, and a few others.

@KashgroundTM it's a much slower game than MvC 3 but it also has a lot more content and a more balanced roster of characters. It isn't immediately appealing but if you stick with it, it's easily one of the best fighting games on the market.

You know what...COD brings up so much recylced content that I honetly think they raid the recycling bin at the office every day. If MW 3 doesn't have some NEW stuff, I'm talking actually gameplay, not a new gun or equipment for my guy online, then the COD franchise has lost me. Blazblue may repeat content, but the game takes fighting to a great level, especially on Continuum Shift II, which I have for the PSP. I like Hellsing :D Beast-Mode Werewolf :)

I owned a mint copy of BB calamity trigger limited edition and foolishly sold it on ebay because I could not undestand the game mechanics as I'm a big street fighter/KOF player, well now I'm happy to say that BBCS brought me back to this franchise the tutorials are excellent I recommend that anyone that is on the fence about buying this game to just do it for 19.99 brand new this game is really worth it but beware that the each new DLC character costs about 7 bucks which is pretty expensive.
BlazBlue has a lot of potential and I liked it, but Calamity Trigger had few characters with most designs reminding me too much of other anime/game character designs. Nu-13 looks like something that came out of Gundam 0093, like Nu Gundam especially with her floating blades. Ragna is almost Dante fused with Auron of FFX. GGX character design and fighting styles felt much more original and genuine. I don't find the two new characters featured in BB:CS to be an irresistible addition to the roster.

@JBAsamim325 The story wasn't really that memorable to tell you the truth. I've finished Calamity Trigger with all characters and I can honestly remember nothing about the story. It's all about fighting to me anyway lol

Blaz Blue is an awesome game I think he deserves more status in the world of gaming it looks like it was done with great ease! Many details, charismatic characters, beautiful animation, exciting fights! Who has this game has to spread to friends! 1000 note

i cant believe i spend my damn money on this game...way tooo much dialogues im actually pressing the A button more then half the time....plus i dont get the controls unless its at beginner mode...

@ADHDrenaline It's a good story, plus the controls are easy as hell, with inclusion of shortcuts for those beginners. You don't have to memorize thirty-eight thousand combos and you can pick up and play. The only real problem with the controls are that some of the finals are hard to do quickly and/or properly. The exceptions are Rachel, Tao, Ragna, and a few others.

@ADHDrenaline The story is presented in visual novel form. Also, I don't see how you don't get the controls... I'm just guessing your not use to play fighting games because this game controls were extremely understand (even for me, a person who would play Naruto fighting games).

@KashgroundTM it's a much slower game than MvC 3 but it also has a lot more content and a more balanced roster of characters. It isn't immediately appealing but if you stick with it, it's easily one of the best fighting games on the market.

You know what...COD brings up so much recylced content that I honetly think they raid the recycling bin at the office every day. If MW 3 doesn't have some NEW stuff, I'm talking actually gameplay, not a new gun or equipment for my guy online, then the COD franchise has lost me. Blazblue may repeat content, but the game takes fighting to a great level, especially on Continuum Shift II, which I have for the PSP. I like Hellsing :D Beast-Mode Werewolf :)

I owned a mint copy of BB calamity trigger limited edition and foolishly sold it on ebay because I could not undestand the game mechanics as I'm a big street fighter/KOF player, well now I'm happy to say that BBCS brought me back to this franchise the tutorials are excellent I recommend that anyone that is on the fence about buying this game to just do it for 19.99 brand new this game is really worth it but beware that the each new DLC character costs about 7 bucks which is pretty expensive.

@1504luka It's decent, but NA and Asia has higher amount of players. On the Ps3 atleast, not sure on the Xbox.
It'll take some time to get around with good players in the area.

BlazBlue has a lot of potential and I liked it, but Calamity Trigger had few characters with most designs reminding me too much of other anime/game character designs. Nu-13 looks like something that came out of Gundam 0093, like Nu Gundam especially with her floating blades. Ragna is almost Dante fused with Auron of FFX. GGX character design and fighting styles felt much more original and genuine. I don't find the two new characters featured in BB:CS to be an irresistible addition to the roster.
