  • all i can say is I have seen the maddogs fight there are great and judging by this the dancing/forms were good but not quite there speciality

  • These are just kids working hard at doing something they love. good luck to them! martial arts is all about doing your best. stop being so negative!

  • Neither the martial arts or the dancing were that good. The hip hop wasn't impressive and neither was the martial arts, they are okay but they need to take it to the next level, and ease up on the splits, we get that you can do them! you don't have to do them again and again! the same goes for the cartwheels at least throw in some round offs if you can't do flips.

  • Took the words right out of my mouth

  • all of the people who thing they are shit, well i have 2 cousins in that team, and they work really hard!! you should of seen them, and no their manager doesnt push them too hard they make their own decisions, and before you say anything my 6 year old cousin performed on that night and my 15 year old cousin so before you say shit about them think..cause id like see all of you do that !!

  • I don;t think maddogs are good. I think the manager pushes them abit to hard. I think they should take the dancing out because it spoils the routine of the martial arts. I think the judges at stokes got talent are blind. Maddogs are the same old maddogs, they have the same sort of act in their martial arts. They need to get the crowd going and make the audience suprised when they watch the performance. I think Street feet were better at performing, than Maddogs because StreetFeet had more energy

  • And to give an example. The boy to the right in 1:25 ish performs a jump kick. It is very low off the ground and is not concentrated on. His arms wave all over the place and when he's done with the side kicks that are higher than his peers (which is the only semi- compliment I could give him), he skips back. Not walk or Run skip/hops back. That shows no discipline for the arts. If this was a dance off or cheerleading try out I would give a higher score.

  • I don't see how a powerful martial arts kata would bore the crowd? Or even an XMA kata.... The dancing in this makes it look sloppy along with the almost skipping action. The kicks do not fully extend and when they do they are weak. I'd call this something, maybe modern dance. But not good clean martial arts. I doubt any type of fight skit, or Weapon Kata would somehow bore the crowd. XMA Uses modified "gymnastics" for entertainment purposes. Many in the MA community would gawk at this.

  • In Forms Events, famous world Martial Artists such as, Chloe Bruce, Jason Bourelly-Tankson, Sam Newell and many more, all choose to put gymnastic moves into their routine. Lastly, you say you have heard of the Maddogs, which goes to show the caliber of the club, as we are noticed from around the world.

  • So for audiences who have little knowledge of martial arts, maybe bored by watching it for 3 minutes. This is why gymnastics and dance moves were brought in to lighten the demo up. Also, 4 & 5 year olds were not fazed in showing their high kicks and jumping splits which shows strength, ability, technique and co-ordination. These attributes were appreciated by both audience and judges. Continued.....

  • I too am a black belt so I know what I am talking about and was part of the Maddogs demo team at the time of Stoke's Got Talent. The Maddogs have many talented students, who participate in other sports away from Martial Arts (gymnastics, dance etc). So with moves from these sports, we transfer them to our demo, which can make it more entertaining for audiences, and in this case, judges as well. This particular show, and reiterated by our coach, was created for entertainment. Continued....

  • That was horrible. I heard of the maddogs and i was expecting martial arts not hip hop dance and gymnastics. When you do some real martial arts in a demo then you can call it a martial arts demo. Yes, i am a black belt, a third dan. i know what i am talking about. I was looking for some ideas for my demo team and after watching some videos i found my own mind will come up with much better because martial arts is heavily weighted with gymnastics. so thanks for the video.

  • take a look at the maddogs demo of the semi and final to see all the demo above search with "maddogs demo"

  • they were realy good on the night :) x

  • that was really good! not much variation in routine though! deserved to get in though! well done!
