The first person they killed was cop, but, the second person they killed was an innocent man who owned a store and for that they got $24.00 and some groceries. Actually, this is one of the earliest examples of Federal abuse of power. I am from Louisiana and my family grew up in Gibsland where Bonnie and Clyde were murdered. Yes, I said MURDER. There was no reason they should have been gunned down in a surprise ambush. The cops had overwhelming numbers and the element of surprise. They could have peacefully taken them in. If you look at the photos both Clyde and Bonnie are still in the front seat facing forward. They never knew what happened.

The cops had the drop on them like no other time. They could have surrounded the small diner where the couple was eating. If you saw the diner you'd see how easy it would have been for 6 to 8 men to completely surround it with no chance of escape.
