@SNerfHerder0 Players know how to tackle ( ala troy polomalu patrick willis), they are taught at a young age how to. But forcing a fumble and regainig possesion seems to be the main priority when these guys go after the ball carrier. They will only tackle properly if they were to ever take away the protective gear then guys will not run at eachother with such reckless abandon.
It's just hard not to use the head, you try to use the shoulder but the head always gets hit, had my first concussion this year, came from hitting the ground after getting plowed by the runningback as big as me, just be careful with the head, nothing's worse than concussions
Prevent athletes from further injuring themselves from concussion. Show your support for their futures by expressing you concern for their lives with or without sports. Like the facebook page "Concussions: Running with Posts"
people dont realize how much damage concussions can actually do. i no longer can play sports and have to go to brain therapy twice a week to reteach my brain how to remember and how to balance. this continuance with education and awareness needs to keep happenign
Very good video. It still amazes me what is known about certain sports and yet it does not seem to slow it down at all. So what do we do? I don't know. If people want such things, have at it, as long as it does not include me. :)
If it's "fun" to watch players get seriously hurt and get concussions, you may have a problem... Professional sports are to remain that - professional.
I got a concussion about 6 months ago and I'm still messed up. Whenever I get hit in the head I get dizzy and my vision blurs. Having fourwheelers landing on your head sucks. Lol
i play half back im 230 5"11 and run a 4.5 lol i went helment 2 helment and dident feel a thing but he did, when i play football i have a huge ass afro wish makes me not feel anything but when i had no hair those shits hurts
@brandonjamesholmes I had to take down a 240 full back running out of the back field and my small 5' 9" 160 pound ass playing cornerback I just scooped his legs. I wish I had the shit on tape, It looked sick. I also wrestle so that's why I do them leg sweeps on ball carriers
next season I'm hopefully gonna start for my d2 school next season, last year I played in place of an injured starter for the last three games. I wanna increase my maxes in everything, especially bench from 205 (Im not that big :P) to 215 and maybe get a little more muscle for safety. I've had concussions in practice but not a game which I'm proud of I guess. lol
@brandonjamesholmes Yeah I only been playing football for a few years, I played soccer and basketball my whole life and always liked to play touch football like in the backyard or something and in video games (madden, ncaa) but I'm pretty tough so I figured I could take the punishment when I tried out for DB for my middle school team. You get any college letters?
@DanielSellen playing O- Line (guard), i got myself a few concussions in my day (6) from linebackers and picking up the blitzes... it sucks... wish i had not used my head so much
@Seanchoman2009 I think in high school football people on defense get the most head injuries. they dont know how to tackle and they just put there head down
@chillyayo09 I've played football and hitting is the BEST part of the game. I've had my fair share on concussions and most players really don't care. All they want to do is play the game. It's a violent game and the players know it, why are you trying to tell us what we already now? Even the founder of the NFL, George Halas, said, "football is a game of hitting." Watch the NFL Crunch Course and you'll understand. People love to watch and play football, why should do they care for your opinion?
Americans eant to see blood, they like it...otherwise they hadn't realized a race like Nascar in which there are 50 cars, in a fucking stupid egg track!
@chillyayo09 Well, I guess in America we aren't regular, becuz we are watching it for the contact. Getting hurt is apart of the game and it always has been. I don't know where you are from, and frankly, I don't care. All I know, is that this is an American sport and that's why us REAL fans watch the game and buy jersies and other NFL items. People have been getting knocked out for a long time, now, maybe you haven't realized that. It's not becuz of anything, but the speed of the game.
When a football player gets hit, his spit travels a whopping 35 mph at an angle of 63 degrees. At that rate, the spit will hit the floor in 1.3 seconds. That's faster than a Ferrari.
A sledge hammer? Wow! Football is about to turn into a commercial friendly sport. I could see you enforcing the rules in the NCAA, but in the NFL? Come on...These are grown men, let the boys play the game like they have been playing it for years. It's FOOTBALL...This is what AMERICA loves about the game!
ITS TIME for Young Referees,or something better. These old men with bad eye sight isn't helping the game anymore. This is 2010. If we can land on mars we can Improve Officiating. And what about some sort of "Accountability in Officiating." These same guys blow game calls and I have to see them do the Same Bad Calls every YEAR ! WTF !?
@jhayemdoubleyou Yeah, but it must have been that way before, becuz the guy didn't hit him up there in the game, I seen it...He lead with his shoulder and hit him in the chest.
Someone call football a pussy sport. I dare you.
