@hiddnheiziger not techno! Jarre was one of the pionner of electronic music, but definitly not techno... Techno is a little branch of electronic music that developped in the mid-80's, based almost exclusively on repetitive rythms mad mainly to dance.

I think some of the impressions and comparisons come from a likely fact, analog synths, and the CS80 will typically pound the digitized "advances" of the 80's. and the CS80 of the 70's is nearly unbeatable in its quality. So assuming Jarre used the CS80 here (glissando effects being one of its fairly unique attributes) it would remind one of Vangelis. Who/which I dont care for based on Chariots. Just listening to zoolook, it suffers from digital tech compared to this creamy brew.
@agfagaevart Erhh... Check out the size of JMJ's concerts throughout time, my friend - it's not just the music, it's the setting, the dimensions, the experience. JMJ can't be booked for some Joe Blow's birthday party ;-)
And besides, JMJ was way ahead of time, both in style, design, technology, and performance - Look at his laser harp, his light organ, etc etc
He is, as was mentioned here, father of electronic music.
