  • OMG

  • The first time I saw fish swim off the tapestry. 1979, lots of unexpected acid. Still so cool.

  • I was playing some Mass Effect yesterday and its music is great. It has the same vibe as this. I guess they love Jean.

  • the show yesterday was amazing

  • what an amazing piece of music this was and still is.

  • I have the all equinoxe parts on cassette

  • I think this is how Trance music has born

  • @Kokosmynn Through 70`s it was Jean`s original albums that help form and create the energy and style of the likes of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter and Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel. Daft Punk and Air, other than football the best exports France has to date...

  • @alwaysquerulous I agree totally about the artists you mention, but football? surely that`s our export? granted you`re usually better than England but I`m still claiming it as ours! (I`m just having fun with you-but it`s still ours ha! ha!)

  • @alwaysquerulous I sort of liked magma...that was an awesome french band...

  • This was the first piece of music I ever heard that brought me into to the wonderful world of synth music...pure heaven

  • The master!

  • How the hell did he make this f**ing beautifull music!

  • Ulf Dageby - Gallret

  • beautiful song!!

  • 28 people were not even born then and never heard of the Synth master in their life.

  • It affects how the world feels. Everyone must love his music...And if they don't they should never show that. It is the law that he is the best ever. 28 people farted in their seats.

  • It affects how the world feels. Everyone must love his music...And if they don't they should never show that. It is the law that he is the best ever.

  • I like Jean Michel Jarre but, who cares if other people don't? Does that affect how you feel?

  • Fantastic!! Forget all the young people who do not realize what real music is. They are all brain washed into Pepsi Commercials and " The Big Bang Theory"

  • 22 people are deaf !!!

  • @Venomancer86 No, you really mean 22 people should be seized at gun point, put up against a wall blindfolded and shot for being tossers who think it's really funny to click on the thumbs down feature because their lives are EMPTY!!! All the best!

  • @Blabloo72 No one should have that done to them.

  • por DIOS... ES EL HUMANO QUE DIO VIA LIBRE A TODA LA ELECTRONICA... Y MAS ALLA SU SENSIBILIDAD NOS UNE, COMO VERDADEROS HERMANOS NO SOLO A LA ESPECIE, SINO A LA VIDA EN LA TIERRA, EN CONEXION CON EL UNIVERSO. Y LA BUENA APROPIACION DE LA TECNOLOGIA. ESO SI TENIENDO SIEMPRE PRESENTE LA TRANSUBSTANTATIO... VIVA JARRE.

  • Jean Michel Jarre - Munich - 2011

    Date / Time: Saturday, 11.19.2011, 20:00

    Location: Olympiahalle Munich /MUNICH

  • hi,

die wengsten finden die oder ggf anderes gut, aber ich :-)

  • If U love Jean Michelle Jarre U will love U NO HU - Google U NO HU & check out their website - In particular their BEYOND BEYOND Album and their Videos!

  • Genius

  • i'm too young to know this sound.

but i think, that's one of the source of the techno-music.

    i am right?

  • @hiddnheiziger not techno! Jarre was one of the pionner of electronic music, but definitly not techno... Techno is a little branch of electronic music that developped in the mid-80's, based almost exclusively on repetitive rythms mad mainly to dance.

Jarre music is about 15 years older than techno and doesn't have any of the characteristics of techno music except being electronicly-made.

  • @hiddnheiziger wrong

  • legendary tune

  • I 've bought this album when MIR space station was bringing back to the ocean.

  • the best album.........

  • *has the full set, oxygene, Chronologie and equinoxe*

  • @Neobenedict You're missing Chants Magnetiques.

  • simply fantastic!!!!!!!!

  • i cant help but wonder if this was the inspiration for coldplay's Clocks?

  • this is the music that needs to be played when humanity finally wakes up to the NWO one world government plan to control everyone and everything and starts to realise we are are all part of a connected universe and take responsibility for each other and elect responsible people to power, not inbread psychopaths as we have now.

  • i reckon he's got some extraterrestrial connexions (call it friends if you want) but this guy is playing for another team also. in another court.

  • Ahhh... I just love playing this intro on my Eminient 310 Unique.

  • Gr8

  • remember : JEAN MICHEL JARRE OSLO 2010, august 28

  • @SkjeldeSkjelde Seen him 2008 may, Manchester UK :)

  • hooooooooooooo ca aussi trés beau ya ya

  • I think some of the impressions and comparisons come from a likely fact, analog synths, and the CS80 will typically pound the digitized "advances" of the 80's. and the CS80 of the 70's is nearly unbeatable in its quality. So assuming Jarre used the CS80 here (glissando effects being one of its fairly unique attributes) it would remind one of Vangelis. Who/which I dont care for based on Chariots. Just listening to zoolook, it suffers from digital tech compared to this creamy brew.

  • great stuff. Father of electronic music?

    no way.

  • @fireclownfish you think it's the album of "space music" that was out in the 50's?

  • @tounecaneton do you mean the forbidden planet soundtrack?

    as "father of electronic music"?

    jarre is a son.

too young to father something this old and too small to take any credit.

His CS-80 deserves considerable credit though. Sounds great!

  • this is the GOD of trance. I was 14 loving his music in the 80s. WOW enjoy trance people!

  • My favourite composer in late 1900´s

  • Ad astra per aspera...

  • Moog, like the keyboard. KIX ASS

  • @smilingpug Definitely love the Moog, and I also loved his Fairlight CMI III performance/style in the mid 80'ies.

  • @TheRealXesc ok

  • sehr schöne alte Synthesizer Music von Jean Michel Jarre. Kauft aber auch das Original, dann habt ihr gute Tonqualität.

  • Er....Anyone heard of JOHN CARPENTER?????? He did this stuff before JMJ.

  • @agfagaevart I think you're mistaken about that. Can you give examples?

  • @agfagaevart Erhh... Check out the size of JMJ's concerts throughout time, my friend - it's not just the music, it's the setting, the dimensions, the experience. JMJ can't be booked for some Joe Blow's birthday party ;-)

And besides, JMJ was way ahead of time, both in style, design, technology, and performance - Look at his laser harp, his light organ, etc etc

He is, as was mentioned here, father of electronic music.

  • Amonga the stars, touching the eternity...

  • he is 61 and i see him last week in Liberace/ czeck republic........

yes he is father of electronic music......

he is Amin Van buuren mantor..........
