That's funny! When I was in second grade I was in a bee and had to spell the word "break" - or so I thought. I spelled it that way but it was supposed to be "brake." They are homophones and I forgot to ask for the definition. Unbelievable!

in the last decade,around 7 times students of indian origin won the bee,everytime at least 2-3 indo-americans made it to the last five. indians constitute 1% of US population and yet they made the above stat a reality. rest of america should be happy about the fact that this is the only community which is churning out scientists,engineers and doctors instead of street gang members

Why do people even care about this shit? Spelling Bees are just freak shows for kids, designed to make them even freakier. They don't even understand half the words they're given, they just spell them. The winner doesn't prove anything apart from the fact that they are willing to work hard for no social benefit and it also promotes a society of the "gifted" elite. Don't get me wrong, some of these kids are probably very bright, but this is just bullshit. It doesn't prove anything.

there are slums in India.. I didnt say they aren't.. I visited India last year and I didn't see any slums in India.. thats all I AM SAYING.. Danny Boyle saw them because his movies are based on slums.. Slums are located in some part of India.. I visited India last year and it was TOTALLY the opposite.. You must have watched slumdog millionaire and your opinion about India is based on that movie..
