Hey, any Pagans out there? This is our song. Let's go back to a time we knew, when we didn't have to hide who we were. When we could Dance in an enchanted forest the whole night through.
@WolfsongStorm I'm a Neopagan, and I totally understand what you are saying. People laugh at me because I believe in ancient deities for my magick and the God and Goddess. Even dancing the Beltaine maypole seems strange today.
@artistinblack9585 I agree, or when people think "Halloween" is just a day for candy and costumes. I've always hated those stereotypical shows like Charmed, sometimes I wish people could see what we're really like. A.k.a. NOT Satanists.
Blackmore is full of class and the talen just keep dripping from his spirit. She is an angel singer. What a beautiful song...I am dancing right now.....
@extrememetal100 There's no problem or disgrace in expanding one's music interests. If you find some music that moves you, follow it, and see where it takes you.
It's so haunting and enchanting. Just perfectly like a moonlit night laced with the shadows of the trees' boughs. So beauitful...keep singing. We'll keep listening with all of our hearts.
keep music pagan, not a group, a feeling, not battle words, a peace treaty....love this song pray this music never fleas beneath our hearts again!!! )O(
@XwXNarutoXwX If i don't know what you're "What the hell"ing about i can't exactly reply now can I? what exactly confused/ bugged you when i posted this?
@kapuppygrl224 what you just said all that, "not a group, a feeling, not battle words, a peace treaty....love this song pray this music never fleas beneath our hearts again!!! )O("oh and the )O( The meaning of Pagan is not to be Christian, Jewish, Or Muslem. So I mean A feeling? a peace treaty? love? basically what you just said (or implied) is that bands like bands that imply religion are bad.
@Mikkedev No. 2 Atheism is not progress at all. Atheists have existed in organized groups since the dawn of organized religion. There is nothing new or exciting about atheism; the only difference between then and now is that we religious folk no longer slaughter you at every opportunity. Last I checked, that trend began when Christians first started organizing themselves around 2000 years ago.
@Mikkedev No. 2 First off, The "86-110,000,000" I mentioned was almost completely unchanged by the advent of mass-murdering weaponry. It was nothing more than a collection of people murdering other people as quickly as possible through time-honored means like starvation, active murder with hand-held weapons, cremation, etc., etc. The only possible argument you could make for "new mass-murdering weapons" is the gas chamber, and even that has precedent in the form of ancient disease warfare.
@Mikkedev No.1 First off, I did mention the population level differences; second, irrational fear of anything new has nothing to do with Christianity-that's a behavior pattern shared by all animals, everywhere, since the day animals first acquired a level of cognitive function.
The first few Blackmore's Night albums are as good as it gets. Once RB let Candice pretty run the show it got pretty crappy. That doesn't detract from the good stuff, though. RB is a guitar god, to be sure. Candice has a great voice.
I can't agree with you. Though this band and this song are fuckin awesome, the historical period it represents is not. All that epicness is awesome and all the time I listen to songs such as this I dream about that era, but if you think a little bit, you realise that that period was of history was full of pain. Yes im talking about the inquisition and the christian domination. Christianity destroyed more than 5 thousand innocent lives! Besides that, i love the epicness of that era.
@vomitvsmaldtivs This is not an excuse for the crimes of "Christians", but it is vitally important.
"Christians"(hint, hint)killed those 5000 over the course of a couple hundred years. When you add in population expansion factors, that's the equivalent of about a million lives in today's terms. In the space of 4-6 decades of the 1900's atheists killed anywhere between 86-110,000,000 innocent lives, not to mention the thousands that are still being murdered by atheists every few months.
@vomitvsmaldtivs Besides, it's the height of cowardice and dishonesty to claim that people are responsible for the crimes of idiots who are hundreds of years dead and gone, especially since the organization of Christianity today is the exact opposite of what it was back then.
I would love to live back then. I dont care about disease and things, I belong there. I don't belong here. I hate most technology and it hates me. I'd rather be fighting with swords and real bow and arrows than guns, theyre to messy and make way to much noise,. just look at how the earth has deteriorated since all this new technology... and how pure it used to be...
This is the first song I downloaded from them. And now, I'm a pretty big fan. I wish more people here in America listened to them, they're really good. The cover of Rainbow's Self Portrait that's also on this album is also superb, and though some may see it as an insult to Ronnie's memory, I have to say their version happens to be my favorite.
@PatrickCervantez They have done several Rainbow covers (all before Ronnie died), but the only one that can't compare is 'Rainbow Eyes', as the original was far more BN in style than theirs!
I totally agree with you. I think I shouldve been born in the medieval period. Loved everything about tht time. Of course I would have to be born into nobility or I would have to hang myself with the filth the villagers put up with.
@tigerglory Ages and eras change but people not. Believe me, none of you would love to live back there. There are laws today but still there are ppl who can play it out, so you can imagine what was it like 500 years ago.
I'm actually a Deep Purple Fan, I listen EVERY '70 '80 rock subgenres, let's say all genres at all, but Deep Purple FOR ME are best.
I always liked fantasy/medieval as genres af all produced by humanity also, and when I listened Blackmore's Night it was the PERFECT encounter with my interests.
By Blackmore's Night, it means Ritchie Blackmore, the guitarist. You know.. the guitarist from Deep Purple? Legendary guitarist from an equally legendary rock band?
This song is awesome. I really like it.
