I was raised in Cotati, CA, and used to listen to Jim at the La Grande Restaurant on Stony Point Rd...He would also use his expressive face for commercials on local TV commercials, and they were always my favories...The Accordian Festival at Cotati Park (on Vito Gruvi's bandstand) is an international highlight, and when I walk into downtown Cotati, I always make it a point to walk by the park and pat Jim's shoulder on the left side of his statue...A great musician and a great man...
This is my Dad! Thank you for posting this. I do not have this video. He is right "this guy is good"...he said that all the time. I laughed and cried at the same time.
@jillbog Hi Jill, I'd love to visit with you sometime. That is also my name, Jim Boggio. There's not a lot of Boggios so it may be that we are related. I was born in Montana where there were lots of Boggios. I am on Facebook and would love to visit with you. Very sorry for the loss of your father. Lost mine a few years ago too and I know how hard it it. God Bless.
Jim attended our high school in the mid 50s (Watsonville, CA). He impressed everybody in the music classes. He was a professional musician even then but one of the friendliest and helpful kids. It's appropriate that his friends had a bronze statue made of him in Cotati, California. RIP, Jim.
Well funny thing is that is also my name. I wonder if we are/were related? Humm
