  • x.x You have no idea how hard this game is when it's played on an emulator with a crappy keyboard that can only sense three keys at the same time. The farthest I can get is hard mode stage 2-2.

  • Dude! Use a frickin' capture device!

  • Treasure and Nintendo confirmed the sequel for Wii !!!!, hope the day it coming out, it was a GREAT game in the N64 :)

  • =( but its almost impossible to get it for the N64

  • there's a sequel comming out

  • Man, you're so good :D

This game was one of the best games I've played, I think... It takes what I loved about StarFox 64, and several shoot-'em-up games, and it perfectly packed those elements into one awesome game.

I am pretty bad at it, though.

But I'll get better, I'm sure. Just have to master the dodging and such :P

Awesome video, though. Fantastic job =)

  • este juego es increible es una pena que no lo hallan decidido comercializar fuera de japon ya que seguramnete hubiera tenido muy buenas ventas.

  • How do you get past the bullet. I've manage to beat it a few times but it took me a lot of continues to pull it off.

I usually just shoot it and guide it into Saki's shots. Then when it gets close enough I wack the hell out of it. I almost always get it down to 15 before it blows.

    Any pointers?

  • First of all - DON't use the lock-on mode.

You have to be very precise and hit the projectile (the bomb) with your shots almost all the time because the margin of missed shots is very low. As soon as it gets big enough hit it with the sword. When it disappears from the screen stand at the edge of the screen and hit it when it appears. As it moves to the other edge of the screen chase it and with your sword all the time. That's how I did it..hope it helps.

  • Exactly right. I didn't know that lock-on mode meant the shots were less powerful. If you try to kill the bullet with lock-on mode, I think it is pretty much impossible. It is not too hard to do once you are in manual aiming mode, though.

  • do you think they should remake this game for the Wii?

  • I hope they will :D

  • Seconded, this game is perfect for motion sensing.

  • do you think they should remake this game for the Wii?

  • any tips on beating the guy with the whip in the beginning? do you just have to keep rolling quickly to the left and right of it? Didnt know that the main character transforms O.o.

  • To beat the guy with the whip You should use the lock-on mode and shoot him, reflecting the black and red flaming orbs that the bats shoot at You is very helpful too. Just remember to keep rolling when he is about to attack.

  • thanks, im at the airplane level now in normal. Its really hard, but ill get it.

  • i really want to play this game but i dont have a gamecube controller or a classic controller to play it with

  • Wow you make this look easy, then again im using the gamecube controller on the virtual console so its really awkward to play lol but still nice work =)

  • Don't use the GC controller with Sin & Punishment, it only makes it harder then usual.

  • is every level timed?

  • Yes, you have a time limit to finish every level (or section of each level), after the timer reaches zero the health bar shrinks until:

    1.time bonus item is found

    2.commander/boss is killed

    3.hero dies :P

  • how do u play it with two players?

  • One player aims the cross-hairs. The other moves the character around. I'm not sure who gets to pull the trigger and jump.

  • ownage

  • If you use a Mac, you have an excuse.

If you don't, do this on an emulator.

I'm sorry, but it's just that N64 emulators exist now and most people have barley any excuse to not use one.

  • Ever play this game on an emulator? There's a fancy motion blur effect that dosen't emulate properly, and completely screws up the cutscenes.

Of course, a few GFX Plugin effects and it just pastes a bunch of garbage whenever if should come up. But nonetheless.

  • OOooh.

Also, have YOU ever tried using an N64 emulator on the Mac? About one exists. It sucks and you literally have to pay for it. So of course I haven't play it.

  • buy it from wii vc... or even better, the original cart. no regional lock-out for jp-us even and controls a lot better.

  • This game absolutely NEEDS a sequel. Why? Because A. It's awesome, B. The story never really makes sense thus it needs another game to explain it C. Cliffhanger!

  • All those who are interested in the game getting a sequel need to buy it on the Virtual Console, to show Nintendo that it's a popular game with many fans!

  • Treasure should make more games like this. They're good at it...but I don't think they like working on big consoles (takes too much time for them).

  • Oh, yeah! The control with the Wiimote would bring the new dimension to the gameplay. I wonder why they didn't release a Limited Edition (let's say - 1,000 copies) of Sin And Punishment with a dedicated lightgun on N64 - that would make the fun even better and certainly be a collector's nightmare as the prices of such set could be really sky-high.

  • there are no really expensive games on the N64. Even sought after games like Ogre Battle go for around 60 dollars in perfect condition. Even Sin & Punishment can now be had for about 40 dollars or less. If a special set would exist i don´t think it would be expensive. Besides, who would like to play this fast-paced game with a light gun or WII-mote. It would just suck.

  • Hm, I would like to give it a try anyway and use a lightgun (if there was such a possibility). And if talking about expensive games for N64 - it depends on what You mean by "expensive". Sure, no N64 game is anywhere near sought after and as expensive as for example Quadrun or AirRaid for Atari 2600 (which can go for over a thousand dollars) but there are still some N64 titles like Bangai-Oh, Doubutsu No Mori or Bomberman 64 - AE which are both rare and quite expensive (complete).

  • This Treasure Title really makes the N64 Sing! This would be awesome on Virtual Console! They aught to make it Wiimote compatable....sign ...oh well.

  • It is on virtual console now. It came out today and its 1200 wii points bc its an import. i don't think it uses the wiimote though. im going to go check that again.

  • I live in USA. We never Got this Title.

    :(

  • Acctualy we just got this. It is on the US vertual console. Just got relesed today.

  • it dosent use the wii mote. It your going to play this, your bes bet is use the classic Controler. IF you only have a GC controler, then I recomend useing control set-up C

  • after I left my last comment, I thought, "What if? Naaah!" then I went to a VC list online and saw "Sin and Punishment - USA." That makes me laugh, Treasure gets to be the develpoer who's japan Exclusives get a second chance here! Never would've believed it. I also picked up the MArio2 Japan (HARD AS HELL!)

  • I can't really tell what's going on... No offence, but the quality sucks. Nice fight, though, I guess.

  • Yes, You are right, the quality IS bad. If I have more time I'll try to re-record it with much better quality. And not only the last boss fight but the whole speed run on Normal difficulty (Yet, it's impossible for me to finish this game on Hard with only one credit :P )

  • You know, emulators aren't illegal if you own the original materials, and Screen Recorders aren't hard to use.

  • It's hard to me to play S&P on emulator, I only do it on my N64 and I'll try to catch a video of the game via TV card.

  • Technically, emulators themselves aren't illegal, but the ROMs are. The only way to have a legit ROM is to dump it yourself.

  • Well, if You don't care about geting a lot of points/hits and You are in for a "speedrun" then it's about 35-40 minutes (depending on the difficulty).

  • how long does it take to beat this game?

  • I died constantly so it took me about an hour and a half. But don't let its short lengh get to you. There are loads of difficulty settings, plus I've had more fun with this than any 100-hour item collection thing on the N64.
