Hello Chief'',GOT EXPOSURES PROBLEMS.''Exposure on the right side is all ready to taken off, need to get a Water Curtain set up real fast with a 2 1/2.
Well who ever it is that is ordering people to move needs to look at where at its going come down espically the crane.
The crane will not come down that far but u do have to think about the power line near by that will come down with it. So at this point that lady that you hear in the backgroup has no idea what she is doing. All your suppose to do is keep everyone back that is it and watch incase something falls then u start running.
@3034893118 Those lines can take out 3 or 4 poles away from where the crane comes down. The camera man is in the direct line of the wires if they come down. They finally got smart and shut down that whole street. The female cop was in the right, she doesn't have time to explain why to everybody.
This place was a total loss from the start of the clip. Putting water on this would just make the clean up harder. Let it all burn to embers and then cool the hot spots, then just truck it out. No big timber to deal with.
thats what you call a green fire. they didnt put an ounce of water on it. they just saved the adjacent structures. great job guys. you probably saved a million gallons of water. thank you...
yes, there's no point in fighting that fire, they'll tear it down anyway. Fire fighters are well trained, instead they watered the neighboring house to protect from fire domino effect
Im surprised that crane tower didnt collapse being what seems to be right about the fire- the heat shouldve melted it- or at least set the crane-cab ablaze too from heat exposure
Only thing to do with a blaze that big is protect other structures, let it burn and pull out thre marshmellows. Theres no getting the upper hand on that fire- way too involved, and far too much fuel
I work at this site and I think it was arsone. The crane company is taking the crane down today and tomorrow with mobile cranes. And as for work well we have lots that was only 100 units and we have to buile another 1000.
What a needless waste. I wish they would sentence arsonists to hard labour until they have paid for the damage they cause. What's a few million dollars in reparation at $10 per hour? That should keep them off the streets for a while...
It was probably one of the buyers who wanted to get out of their contract due to falling home prices recently, or the developer, or the construction workers who wanted to keep their jobs for a little longer.

Looks like nobody is playing today

Damn thats a good fire. Too bad they are only going to defensively attack it. Not a chance anyone is going in to play.

@themooseisontheloose Not saying it wouldn't be fun, but nothing is as fun and thrilling as going inside.

There not doing a good job of protecting the exposures - at 3:09 it looks like the building on the right is starting to burn.

It always surprises me how quickly fire spreads. Even in the middle of the day the Fire Dept didn't have a chance.
Nice footage!

firefrenzy669 2 years ago
the cop was concerned the camera would record errors on the part of firemen and police like him showing no sense of how short that crane actually was.
the actual shame is the Ministry of Children and Family Services building was a writeoff due to water damage and heat damage.
the flames were so intense buildings and plants along 137 street and the alley to the south of the construction suffered heat damage.
trees almost 20 metres away had leaf wilt from the heat.
sageb1 3 years ago
this is what happens when security guard get NO instruction on what to do INSIDE the building.
SOP is to do one round per hour, and check all finished rooms if you cannot see the inside.
that wasn't done, so the arsonist(s) got inside, lit a fire and took off.

Great camera work! Very steady with nice slow pans and long stills to look at - Great job! . . .in spite of the difficulties too ;-)
