  • nice japonica i can't wait til mine gets big

  • cara vc poderia me mandar este video no meu e-mail??? espero que fale minha lingua rrsrsrs ( meninodanoite@msn.com) obrigado

  • must be a pain to clean.

  • @baxter31391 It must? Why must it?

  • oustanding tank...xD you even have a home-made co2 reactor, the water is as clear as its supposed to be...xD, congratulations =) (im jealous...haha)

  • Mangualde... essa bela localidade!

  • Love that green

  • Nice

  • yes what is the plant on the bottom of the tank? thanks

  • where can i buy the grass?

  • stunning tank mate well done.

  • do you use co2 24houres a day???

  • @bstal247 It will spread but you will need a strong light to thrive them.

Co2 would speed the spreed to,but they also will grow without Co2.

When you buy this plants, they usually come in a pot.You can take em out from the pot and separate it for smaller pieces.Than you can plant them in the gravel,a few inches a part from each other.

Of course more plants you have, the faster they will cover the bottom.

    Hope it's helped. :)

  • How do u syphon the gravel without pulling up plants ?

  • @jakalkid1997 You shouldn't siphon the gravel when you got plants grow on the bottom.

In a planted tank like this you just change water, don't bother the gravel.

  • What is that very tall plant at the far left of the aquarium? Is it okay in low to moderate light, or does it need really bright light? And also, would it be okay in a low tech aquarium?

Lol, sorry for all the questions... it's a really nice tank!

  • @LiliFromHali I'm a newbie myself. But i presume it's Vallisneria Spiralis or Vallisneria Americana. Don't know the difference really. But i think they can handle low-tech yeah. I had that as a beginner plant atleast. But ask your local fish store to be sure :)

  • @Dallidan Thanks! I'm just starting my first planted tank myself. How's this tank doing now? I hope it's still as beautiful as it looks in this video! :D

  • @LiliFromHali oh no no.. that's not my tank :P just noticed no one replyed to your comment so i thought i'd help out :) And i'm starting my 2nd planted tank at home :) GL with your!

    thanks!!

  • how to get your plants to grow so healthy? any tips ?

  • @2smart4uandu

    C02 diffuser / reactor

    T5 Lights

    Flourite Substrate

  • Those may be the most fortunate fish in the world

  • Can you explain about your substrate please :) , its cool and natural looking. It seems you used ADA like clay based material in your substrate but it melted and rovered with nice terrain of glosso ( or cuba ) to me. Did you ?

  • my god, this tank is truly amazing,I would love to know what plants u used.

  • felicitaciones

  • Muy bien bonito y logrado

  • wow that is a beautiful aquarium....how would you clean the gravel?

  • incredible! :) i love it!

  • any co2 added?

  • oh yes .

    it's beautifuL ..

  • i really like your tank, i usually like tanks with one piece of driftwood in the middle and having plants built around it and making it the centerpiece, but this is just as awesome with the middle being exposed and having all the fish just crowd around ^_^ really nice, very inspiring

  • what awuarium plants are those?

  • How big of your tank and how many watts of you light?

  • I think your favorite colour is green. Now help your wife with the dishes :D

  • These are the kinda freshwater tanks that can stand up to saltwater reefs and look good. This is what makes me still like freshwater and not just salt.

  • good job!

  • id love to learn how to set up a tank like that

  • is that java moss? if not what is it?

  • @h2opolo131 I think it's 'christmas moss' (Vesicularia dubyana)

  • beautiful

  • I wish, I wish.. I wish I were a fish.. v_v

  • what plants are you using for the ground cover? and what substrate?

  • What is the plant off to the far right? Blyginia something? Starts with a Bl-something. A little help here. I bought it at the AGA and killed it. I am curious how you are keeping it....you don't see that one often....Great tank

  • Whoa! It's like a REALLY REALLY wet rainforest!

  • how do you clean the substrate without messing up all the moss?

  • you basically do not clean the substrate anymore..all the fish waste will be used by the plants..

  • hah those fish probably still think there in south America

  • @joinapak oh so you don't need to change the water if you have plants? Also would this plant grow in plastic rocks?

  • @joinapak sorry wrong person

  • nice

  • nice!

  • As a newbie myself, your setup is awesome. Can you get such rich plant growth withou CO2 injection? Also, I have to use a suction tube to clean the gravel every week or two, how do you do this with so many nicely planted weeds on the gravel bed? If we don't want to disturb the plants, does this mean you can only do this when the tank is fully cycled?

  • It is very unlikely you can have such a tank with those plants w/o co2. The HC carpet is impossible to grow w/o co2. You can suction lightly on the surface of the plants but there is really no need because the plants will use the fish waste as nutrient.

  • @lstayazn hc can and will grow without co² injection do some research and trials. co² promotes faster growth thats it. lighting is the key! i know what im talkin about. as for someone starting out i wouldnt even say try hc. start with ez plants first.

  • @zerocool212121 The thing with HC without co2 is that it requires a lot of light, but w/o co2 high light = algae. It is very hard to balance a tank w/ HC w/o some kind of co2. Yes its possible to have HC w/o co2 and even low light , i have seen it myself but its like winning the lotto.

  • @lstayazn actualy the light doesnt need to be more with or without co². co² just promotes faster growth as co² is just at lower lvls in nature. and high light = algae is just wrong, improper lvls is what causes algae. the key is finding balance, stability is what will make a tank not have issues. its not lotto its experiance using trials and errors. if your lookin to have it carpet faster grow it emersed then transition to immersed it will melt some. ☺

  • @zerocool212121 Too much light will cause the plant to be stunt w/o nutrient and start dying of starvation. The more light you have the more nutrient needs to be added. Also when balancing nutrient with high light plants is not as easy as you think. W/o co2 plants can not photosynthesize at a rate that would out compete algae which does not need co2 to photosynthesize. Because of this, there will be a greater demand for CO2 and nutrients in order to keep the tank balanced.

  • @lstayazn to much light with not make the plant stuned. stunting is from deficiency, and any plant with no fert will always die so that shouldnt even but posted.assuming that i dont know how to balance my tank is kinda funny YOU DONT KNOW ME. a plant will show signs of malnutrition! my light will outperfome a 400w hps or mh, i have no co² and no algae probs. ever seen pearling with no co² i do every day.

  • @lstayazn algae will be in every tank so a lil clean up crew is a must, or constant chems must be added or spot treated. your statements seem more like hearsay than fact, there both only half right(last half) imo.

  • @zerocool212121 You must have magic, because unless you know anything about plant, i would like to see your set up . It is true that algae is in every tank, thus i don't feed my otto he lives off the algae. But when in balanced you see very little of algae. Plants become stunt because with high lights they take in more nutrients thats why they grow faster. I don't know you, but by you saying your lights out compete a 400w MH and you don't use co2 lets me know you know nothing.

  • @lstayazn no idea wtf ur trying to say might just be very bad english idk. just because u cant balance a high light tank with no additonal co² doesnt mean it cant be done right. well just leave it at that.

  • @fxbillie No, you need Co2 Injection, because there's plants that need a great quantity of Co2 and/or strong lights.

It will all depends of what plant you gonna use, and with what kind of fish/shrimp.

  • @fxbillie the answer to your siphoning question, he probably doesn't, lol. when you have plants that absorb nutrients from substrate you should leave it be and just change the water.

  • @fxbillie im pretty sure you can leave it as natural fertilizer

  • dont your fish jump?

  • Tetras dont jump. most fish dont, if your do theres something wrong.

  • what co2 system and lighting are you using and could you tell me the names of your plant most important the ground cover moss

  • The ground cover is not a moss,it's called Hemianthus callitrichoides or "dwarf baby tears" . :)

  • que aquario lindo!como mantem as suas plantas tao lindos e saudaveis.

  • id like to get that grassy bottom look u have any suggestions on somethign that will spread nicely?

  • The grassy bottom is Hemianthus callitrichoides or "dwarf baby tears".

You may also can try "glossostigma elatinoides",

they are a nice ground cover too. :)

  • Where did you get all your plants? thats soooo cool

  • Those fish must think they have died and gone to fish Heaven

  • @blownable No they lived and where put into a zoo, never to see there families again. and i bet he won't let them practice their native religion. I bet they are christian fish now.

  • No point in forcing a religion on a fish. Like humans, a fishes religion is his relationship with his God. Even if you force Christianity on them, if their hearts are not open to it, they will not be Christian. But if they feel that Christianity brings them closer to God, then they were not forced into s religion, they embraced it.

  • @blownable LOL

  • I was tired when I wrote it. Now, a bit more sober, I have to say its really accurate.

  • @blownable I agree that it was right on the money.

  • @blownable jahaha

  • @blownable hahaha

  • my fish are tuff! :)

  • what is your nitrate level

  • can i have a picnic in your tank

  • cool I'll join you. I'll even bring my own scubadiving gear

  • sweet!

  • Greetings from Poland in Europe :-) How strong is the light in your aquarium?

  • Excelente trabalho, está de parabéns. Fico feliz por haver mais um português que se dedique ao "aquascaping".

  • What are the plants in the back ground towards the center? Thank you

  • how do u keep the plants growing with such little substrate? What is the small vine like plant growing in the foreground?

  • im not sure, but i think that foreground plant is called Dwarf Baby Tears.

  • esse aquário está espetácular!!!

podes dizer-me qual é o nome dessa planta? (a ke se parece com uma relva)

    será musgo de java?

    mesmo espectacular!! 5 Estrelas!

  • que batição de prato do caralho........

  • I have a fish tank that has a few plants but not much and i find that tank hard to clean. But how do you clean this tank!

  • I have a planted tank and all i do is 10% weekly water changes and one 30% about every other month...with enough plants you dont vac the substrate, the plants take care of everything and my water quality dosent suffer.

  • Yeah,do not vac cause you will "destroy" everything.

  • u just clean the glass and make sure your filters are running clean. there is no gravel vac in a planted tank it would destroy it

  • At first I thought it was just a shit load of algae built up inside then you zoomed in.....really amazing tank...

  • That is the greenest aquarium I have ever seen

  • how do you keep theses plants alive? what's the secret?

  • make sure you water them every day or so

  • hahaha good call

  • a must to see aquarium , great job, add some music to your video and will be more relaxing to see , thanks

  • WOW!

    Amazing job.

Normally planted tanks have just tall plants for the fish to hide in and yours have a beautiful ground cover and some plants for hiding. Good JOB

  • nice to see such an amazing layout in a running tank!

  • I could sit in front of it and watch it all day!

  • The fish are like, "Weee!"

  • very good...

  • hey i got a 55g tank and want to turn it to a plants tank and just wondering how long does it last before all da plants starts to die out and do i need Co2 too?

  • A planted tank like the one in this video takes a lot of knowledge to accomplish. You should join a forum or read some book first.

  • Yeah he's right.

  • dá vontade de ajeitar o meu, que tá horrivel.

  • WOW

  • thats awesome mate :)

  • hey mate what have you got growing as ground cover? it looks great!!

  • Do those plant carpets make the tank harder to clean?

  • you don't have to vacuum the substrate. You'd just be removing plant food by doing that.

  • That's absolutely beautiful.

  • wow, what a beautiful green you're plants are!

and please, i'm dying to know, how do you clean the tank with so many roots and things in the gravel?!?

  • man thats a killer hc carpet props

  • what do u need to look after plants all mine keep dying your tank looks great plz respond

  • Start with the correct lighting, get a few books and ask at you LFS

  • also, you could consider running Co2 thourhg your tank

  • sand looks so much better than gravel, dont you think?

  • i hear it's a bad substrate though.

  • Nice

  • thats not algae its a type of ground plant

  • LOL...algae...pleco...lol...

  • bwahahaha noob

  • you fucking mong

  • good!!

  • Never get algue??

  • how did you make the landcaping? the tiny lil plant scattered nicely on the gravel? thanks!

watch my fish video and comment and rate pls :]

  • what kind of substrate is used? i'm assuming it's not just gravel... i've been wanting to make a "natural" setup like this... please, help...

  • im not completely sure but the substrate looks like sand to me, usually that is what is used in more natural planted tanks. hope that helps you

  • That's not sand. More like some ADA substrate.
