  • shoutouts just give you inactive subs best way is to just do videos with that person as if your subs like the guy you do a dual com with theyll go sub to him and watch his videos

  • Youtubers are all about partnerships and money. Sad that this started out to express yourselves and its just a big pissing contest now. It kinda makes me hope SOPA passes.

  • Couldnt agree more if everyone who asked for a free shout out got one there would be way to many youtubers out there begging for them

  • put a little unicorn in his arms :P

  • Comment removed

  • If I was woody I would have declined the money and gave a shout out anyway. Woody is a douchebag though so... Yeah.

  • Good stuff your vid gave me sum good knowledge amd a better insight to the youtube game

  • someone pls tell me what the kid name is so i can slap the shit out of him for being so stupid

  • Very well reasoned argument! I'm not going to lie I was kind of getting bored of your videos but this shows me what i subscribed for! @TheGUNNShop

  • if woodygamersFag gave a fuck about his fans he would give shoutouts for free he makes over $300,000 at least from youtube now hes charging his fans $500 to mention the people that put him where he is today

  • most of the subs and friends are fucking bots and sub x sub accounts

  • I can't say how much Machinima people earn.. but you definitely gone way overboard in terms of how much he gets per thousand.

  • its a question of right or wrong. Is it right for woody to take 500 dollars from a kid? In my opinion that's wrong

  • @LightRuler003 Its not a kid -_______-

  • you just gave woodysgamertag a free shout out lol

  • I just turned 18, Ive bought 3 vehicles since i was 16...total of around 25,000 dollars... and its the best investment ever cause i just sold one after i put another $5,000 into it for 30,000. This generation is smarter than you think...

  • @Fohs12 I did something similar, I bought pinting for around $20,000. I sold most of them and made just about $30,000.

  • I still hold my unicorn!!!! =P

  • ipwnstar4hire deserves more views. now wait! he puts out like 2 vids a day covered battlefield 3 like glue and has been making mw2 videos hell he got a quad nuke! now he is putting up a entire lets play of skyrim. he has like over 300 videos. he bust his balls he really deserves it!

  • @TheBic4 Look up "acidglow" He has 6,000 subs and has been posting since 2006; he has 5,500+ videos and he gets like 60 views per vid if hes lucky.

  • ▬►GUNNS, what did Woody pay you to say what you said?

  • @the1kamikaze he complained about seananners and hutch but woody gets a free pass.

  • @gymjone seriously? hmm guess I was on to something. lol

  • Hey I give shout outs not for money but for some left over turkey and tamales. Hit Me Up.

  • so im confused does niels get money from nextgen or what im kinda confused did they work on videos first and then get hired by nextgen or did he get hired then started for nextgen

  • @gamefreak1198 GUNNS and SPIDER own NGT. they created it

  • "MOM CAN I HAVE A RIDE TO SCHOOL?" ROFL

  • Woody sold out nothing more.

  • @ZeroSampleXTV would you?

  • Would anybody be interested in watching objective based gameplay? Contemplating starting up a channel. Let me know. Thanks.

  • Lol, GUNNS just wreaked ELPRESADOR lol

  • MarkOfJ still does that.. Subscriber Tuesdays!!!!

  • I need a free bump... Snort that shit up. No one cares about this shit Gunner... Really.

  • @REM44MAG troll

  • @sparxshot50 sheep

  • Dude shut the fuck up

  • @i8balls troll

  • Gunns you should bring back "diamond in the rough" it really helped people thumbs up so GUNNS WILL NOTICE THIS!!!!!!

  • @MrLolinventer meh... i like the way it is now... news, news, and more news and some times gamers abroad

  • @MrLolinventer Now he'll ask 500$ for each :P

  • Agree 100%!

  • this was a good video gunns

  • rock bottom is 1 penny, it doesn't cost woody anything to say a kids name.

  • @CONFLlCT it makes it mutually beneficial. Same reason people charge for ads on tv.

  • gunns i give u 750 for shout out ;)

  • @XxDj23xX Sir I raise you 250 to make it $1,000

  • lol i would never charge for a shoutout it's not like he needs the damn cash is it ......what he did was exploit his power on youtube to charge for a shout out when really he should give them for free he gets paid for views so my point why charge and i say this do you really think he will gain subs??? is his content good?? ask yourself that, ask why he aint getting the views but everyone has an opinion so don't hate me :)

  • @rodgetaylorjnr why do tv channels charge for ads then

  • @Shayne2wavvy was that what i was saying ??? dude GTFO

  • i rember when mw2 was big and thatguywhocamps was the bigest channel on youtube and he had xjaws on his chanle and gave him a shoutout (which i think was for free) when he had about 10,000 subs. look at xjaws now and look at thatguywhocamps

  • I would pay 500 dollars for a Shout Out.

  • Ads on tv can be about 45000 per min

  • I earn money for my videos lol

  • Dude.. at 17 he's also 1 year away from being legally able to contract. get what I'm saying? With a channel that large, there are other options available. I get he's mature, but why take the chance?

  • xjawz is 17 hes not a kid

  • Comment removed

  • Wow...so glad that I've now been educated by a pseudo intellect who makes his money off youtube videos. For my money...I'll tune into Colin for a more balanced analysis and perspective.

  • so how nuch did woody pay you to do this :P lol jk

  • you have a good point, but i hate your guts ;)

  • I agree 500 is cheap but advertising a channel isnt going to be as profitable per view as a company on tele

  • I like the part where he said 500 is a bargain

  • what you say about the price makes sense but you also say that you have done that for people and not charged them for it so you are different from him. it is all about perception some think he makes alot of money why charge this kid on the other hand he put in all this work just as you have why give the shout out for free.

  • Rip off. 500 for a shout out. To think of it 500 dollars could of been used for better uses like feed the poor or pay bills woody equals greedy gamer who sold his soul for yt fame

  • The person might get a lot of views but will they get the Subs from a shout out?

So basically Woody is taking money for nothing in reality.

I buy stuff and/or subscribe to people i like NOT because someone told me too.........so many gullible people around nowadays and there's always people out there ready to take advantage of that.

  • hey I am 14 and I spent a year Doing jobs Working my ass off to Get £700 for a gaming PC My mum and dad said I was young adult they said it was I made Decisions which would have to be made in the real world they said it is my fault if something goes wrong with the thing I was buying they said I was older enough to Make decisions like this and thank god I love the thing I bought GUNNS IS right this is a bargain he older enough toi make that Decisiopn weather to Woody that

  • @inTHEwrongGENERATION Fuck off..

  • @richay1 what's your problem? Troll elsewhere dumbass.

  • @richay1 Someone's On there Period

  • @inTHEwrongGENERATION People don't watch your shit cause its SHIT i tried to watch a video of yours and couldn't sit through it. Don't go sucking up other peoples 'fame'

  • @richay1 What I have never done a video

  • @inTHEwrongGENERATION I mixed it up because i read yours and another persons comment xD sorry

  • my thoughts exactly gunns... brilliant video

  • I think ppl are mad just cuz they don't like advertisements

  • if i was him i'd give out shout outs for free, to anyone who deserves one!

  • @stigsdrivingschool great?? it is not mandatory to buy a shoutout and honestly... if you are having trouble with those things... instead of concentrating on a youtube channel then maybe you should just go and look for another job?

  • Totally agree. That's the way capitalism works, if you don't like it, go live in China.

  • gunns is right its time to grow up. he is giving a wake up call in the real wirld you will have to work you will have to spend money to make money and that 17 year old got a bargain

  • So, is anyone ever going to explain what G2PO is?

  • How much did G2PO pay you?

  • Lol, honestly It's Annoying hearing you rant....

500$ to post on woody's channel will earn you dead subs, especially if you're the complete opposite.

  • lol gunns i love you you were all nice and was explaining the situation the whole video ,,, then at the end you got all hyped up and serious ahahaha

  • Personally I think Woody and whoever this guy is planned the whole thing.

Look at all the publicity both of them are getting because of this whole "controversy". I don't watch any gaming channels anymore other than DSP and TheGUNNShop (mainly because 90% only do videos for crappy old COD) and I'm sure there's others out there who've only just heard about this and are subscribing to both Woody and the other guy just to see what happens

  • @joevictor53 im with you....who the hell in this world would pay 500 bucks for that!

  • @chakas880 I know, right? Gunns keeps saying this is a bargain. Hell no!!! It would be a bargain if WGT was actually famous. But he's only famous in certain circles. He's not like sxephil, RWJ, iJustine, Tobuscus, etc. or any real celebrity. He's just a famous person in certain gaming communities. I've never seen a WGT video and I'm sure most of YouTube are like me. If one of the actual YouTube stars like the ones I mentioned charged $500 for a shoutout, that would actually be a bargain.

  • @joevictor53 that's probably better. Woody is famous in the cod community so people who watch his vids are interested in cod. $500 for exposure on a channel with 600,000 subs is definitely a bargain. If 1% of the people on his video decided to sub to you then you would get a very big boost and make the money back in no time.

  • Get over it people, if you didn't think that they got paid for shout outs and advertising then you are ignorant or just stupid

  • My video is a related video HELL YEAHHH

  • He took about 2 and a half minutes explaining that he was going to explain what is going on

  • whats this guys channel that gave woody 500$

  • Wow, its amazing how teribly bitchey some of you comments are grow up, and show Gunns some support here.

  • True that thank u gunz! dont really like woody but i still find it wrong...

  • its a rip off, and this guy is a dumbass. I bet woody paid this fag

  • @mwslayer123 how is it a ripoff? You are the dumbass.

  • at the end of the day....viewers are the only reason why uploaders get views/money/likes/favourites. So you're telling us that now we gotta pay the people for content we watch to get a shoutout? why cant it be based on whether we're good or not cuz lets face it, if you have shit quality on your channel no one's gonna watch ur shit. "BARGAIN BARGAIN" lol we give you money and you ask for some from us LOVE IT gtfo

  • I wouldn't even pay a penny to get my channel promoted.

  • @TUZ3H you don't have any intention of becoming a big youtuber

  • @TheNathan741 Even if i did I wouldn't pay 500$ for a promo.

  • @TUZ3H which is why you'll probably never be a big youtuber.

  • @TheNathan741 So your saying If I don't pay, $500 I will never be big? People such as zzirgrizz, Sydicate, they never payed they started from scratch. and look were they are now 600k+ subs.

  • @TUZ3H I said "probably". The odds of you starting from scratch and becoming big are minuscule. With the help of a shoutout from a guy with over half a million subs, you stand a half-decent chance.

  • So your promoting woody in this video.. Is he paying you?

  • lol I can't believe my video response didn't make it through... I guess I should have coughed up the 500 dollars for the advertising rights :3

  • I understand gunns argument but im just a little disappointed that now when i watch a channel and the director gives a shout out i gotta think he was probably paid to give that shout out instead of thinking the director actually enjoys the persons content. Its kinda devalues shout outs as a whole for me personally.

  • I see the logic, however what about the people who cant afford shoutouts and need that money to live, household bills, food etc. this method is only viable for those with disposable income and not people who are struggling in life and youtube. I suppose it's true it takes money to make money.

  • @StigsDrivingSchool Simple lol don't pay it and work herder on your youtube

  • @StigsDrivingSchool Not necessarily. If you truly are good, then you'll be able to make it. For example, DSP became famous on YouTube all by himself and then he partnered with machinima. I'm not saying I'm good or that I'm a success but just as another example, I needed a couple thousand views for a short film I made for the DofE award so I uploaded it, made an advert and put it in my school magazine, had it put on my school website, told my friends/family to tell their friends/family, etc.

  • @StigsDrivingSchool Then they obviously have other things more important to worry about than a shoutout :p

  • @StigsDrivingSchool if you barly get by on food, and bills, your ass should be out working, getting a real job maybe even 2. not pissing around on youtube and video games all day hoping to get payed for pretty much doing nothing.

  • @StigsDrivingSchool 500 is hardly going to put people on the streets. Also, if they are a decent commentator then they will make the money back.

  • @StigsDrivingSchool thats life deal with it

  • Gunnz what's the avg. salary for a person like you who games all year round for a job.......THUMBS THIS UP!!!

  • @Spitter526 He is not allowed to tell there is some agreement I don't know but I know there not aloud tell trust me I thinking about going pro in Gaming I I want to Know but you know

  • Guns what ur doing is horrible u do realize there's kids watching this now there gonna think paying for a shoutout is good and is a bargain, oh sorry is that what u wanted well then fuck you. I sick of these bigger commentators you guys piss me off woody blocked me cuz he couldn't handle the truth I don't care that he blocked me but the fact that he couldn't reply like a man pisst me off and did the bitch option and blocked men haha his loss not mine.

  • 282 people who disliked are dumb assess lol.

  • Does this dude have a regular job or is Youtube his job?

You do shout-outs for free if you like their content. Otherwise don't accept money and don't do a shout-out. It's that easy.

  • loool who really believe this guy?! xD

  • @MrRokNRoll You're right just look at Youtubers like SeaNanners doesn't even put ads on his videos and he has over 500k subs, So the phase is as true as can be, the love of money truly is the source of all evil, money is nothing more than paper, what we as people decide to make of it is what corrupts, not the item itself.

  • is the gunnshopp 402thunder402 ?

  • When I was 17(2 years ago) I owned 2 cars, $500 dollers for a shout out on a channel that large isn't that much. People need to stop bitching

  • Its a fcuking disgrace. I'm neither young or ignorant to the business world! He should be ashamed of himself. I will not watch his stuf ever again!! ....... Not that I watched in the first place lol This should be fun not money driven ;-)

  • Comment removed

  • maybe its a bargain, but soon his channel will be saturated with shoutouts and woodys subs wont even bother checking out these videos.

i sub to people because i like their videos or style of entertainment, not because they got a shoutout from someone.

  • cmon guns, 18 mins? i love ur videos, but cut the fat a little bit. i got other subscriptions to watch too. lol

  • i remember when people commentated for the fun of it =/

  • @arctrooper28 want a medal ?

  • Any amount of money is essentially a ripoff, considering you can pretty much advertise your channel for free by spamming comment sections with your channel link.

I think people are mad at this because it's just another case where people treat Youtube like a business. Youtube used to be a fun place where videos were actually good and people weren't trying too hard. Now that money's involved, videos feel forced and rushed, and I just don't enjoy them as much because of that.

  • @BlanBlan19901990 No one's going to listen to people spamming in the comments. Usually the people who do that are just kids who want the same amount of subscribers as their favourite YouTube stars overnight. The mature ones would try and become popular by actually making good content, paying for advertising/shoutouts, getting friends to spread your channel name by word of mouth, etc. The ones who spam comments usually post crap content - bad gameplay, not funny, not clever, just immature.

  • @joevictor53 You'd be surprised. I know a guy who made 2k subs just spamming Woody's channel for a few weeks. And he actually has good content. The thing is, you WILL get subs, provided 1) Your stuff is good, and 2) You get your channel out there. And even those with shitty content will get subs if they're consistent with advertising. Look at Whiteboy; his content is terrible. But he has almost 900k subs. Why? He gets his videos out there on the front page on a constant basis.

  • @BlanBlan19901990 but it's highly unlikely that you'll get the attention of 600.000+ people by spamming comment sections and even if you did, they would just end up swearing at you for spam.

  • @TheNathan741 And it goes both ways. How many people have you seen get 600k + subs by paying for a shoutout?

And yeah, people get mad, but for every 5 people who get mad, there's 1 person whose curiosity you piqued. That person checks out your channel and whala, you get the exposure. If your content is good, he's probably subbing.

  • @BlanBlan19901990 it's more like 1 in 100 that bother to look at it, whereas with a shout out it is more like 1 in 20 that bother to check it out.

  • @TheNathan741 I disagree. Usually people check out channels that get shouted out because they genuinely believe that the commenter thinks that person deserves a shot. If money's in the picture, Woody's contractually obligated to post that guy's channel in his video. He doesn't necessarily have good content, he just paid to be there. Plus, it's only 1 video. You can spam all Woody's videos. You'll have the advantage of continuous advertising.

  • @BlanBlan19901990 he doesn't have to tell everyone that they paid for the shout out, also people are still more likely to go and look then by spamming the comment section. You can post continuously (provided you dont get banned) but it would take a VERY long time for you to post enough spam to get the attention of over half a million people

  • @TheNathan741 Yeah but Woody announced that he's charging for shoutouts...so obviously you'll assume that anyone you see him promoting paid for that promotion. Also, just make a new account and spam the channel. And you don't need a half million subscribers to get a machinima contract XD

  • @crazykush666 um........ Dual layer DVD disk space 8 gb, blu ray disk space 50 gb........... Think about it.

  • Haha he's mad that all these people he hates on have more everything than him haha

  • Basically guys this fag is just beating around the bush, let me clarify...he is saying he's accepting money and that's point of the video

  • @adidasDC Pretty much. He's trying to explain it like the kid that got the shout-out owns a corporation. It's a kid, and by the looks of this video he's really trying to justify taking money from kids. That tells me that he does the same and should be ashamed of himself.

  • your an idiot

  • @cougarfb65 thumbs down to u BITCH! :)

  • @cougarfb65 you're*

  • agreed 100%

  • LMFAO..damn your ignorant..it's the PS3 that has caused the dumbing down of games..GOTY Bioshock 1 720p on 360, 640p on PS3..GOTY RDR..720p on 360, PS3 640p..lol..numerous examples..you are clueless. Indy Drake 3 is under 4 hours long without the cut scenes..O_o..notice all the cut scenes on PS3 exclusives?Sony might have a powerful CPU but everything else is garbage. The games are now being lead developed on the inferior PS3 to avoid problems..hence..PS3 IS THE PROBLEM!

  • @crazykush666 Da fuck? Notice how shit Call of Duty is? Developed for the XBOX 360. Most games are developed on the Xbox first because the CPU can't take as much as the PS3. The CD's they use are also inferiors and can't hold as much data. They need to make sure the cross platform games that are made can work on the weakest link, the Xbox. Of course the PS3 also has its issues. Can't think of any, but they must exist.

  • @TheGUNNShop

NO one should be paying for shout outs because it is cheating the youtube system,

just like whiteboy was doing with asking for favourites.

  • @zamatza2000 that struck a nerve huh?!were you one of the dickheads who payed for a shout out??yes asswipe I did watch the video..ready to have a discussion like an adult now or you wanna keep cursing each other out??

  • Comment removed

  • It's nice to do shout outs for free sometimes, but at some point you either do them all for free or all for money. You can't do both because the guys who paid will wonder why they didn't get it for free like the others. A channel the size of Woody's couldn't possibly do them all for free. I'm sure he's bombarded daily by people asking him. If he did every shout out for free, his videos would become all shout outs. The money route makes the most sense. The success after depends on the content

  • 60% of woodys subs are dead subs and hes not even getting 200.000 views on his own vids... you are a retard

  • $500 for a shoutout to 600k? NO THANKS. I would rather do a twansition for Toby Turner with over a million views. FUCK THAT.

  • lol gunns sometimes you are just fucking stupid XD

  • He's not a kid and if you think he is why are his parents letting there 17 year old KID have all this money???? Stupid!

  • Gunns, you're completly right and i agree 100%

$500 is a bargain in the real world...

Not to mention this $500 shout out could possibly land the 17 year old a partner ship with machinima and easily get that money back... just like in the real would its mutually benefitial and comepletely logical.

  • @iGumbal Nope. Unless the person you give a shoutout puts very, very similar videos to yours and has a similar personality then no one would watch your videos. When someone puts a shoutout, i go over to their channel, i sub, i watch 1 single video, and i honestly never ever watch their new videos ever again unless they're similar to the person who gave em a shoutout. It's youtube, $500 is too much. It will get you subs, but no views and inactive subs. I've seen it happen millions of times.

  • @GoDxism they don't have to be the same, they just have to be good.

  • @iGumbal yeah but do people really subscribe to a channel just because WGT says to? (I only subscribe to people who's content I like)... The poor kid will have dead subs if the new subs don't like the content..Hell, if it's that easy to get a partnership with machinima, I should just quit my real job ,that contributes to society, and produce cookiecutter cod commentaries

  • @iGumbal If Woody loses subscribers then the shout out would not be mutually beneficial. For some reason Gunn's is only looking at one side of the deal. Of course $500 is a bargain for the kid,but it could potentially cost Woody more in the long run. In the "adult world" corporations don't take
