  • Naglfar forever!

  • Original version of Elizabeth Bathory is better! True Hungarian Black Metal!

  • Limbonic Art and Naglfar

    Hell Yeah!!! \m/

  • come on chaps lets not bicker

  • really waste of time, see all the 40 favorite black metal songs of you when in all Burzum was in first but in none "Det som en gang var" , appears, and what is the deal with Gorgoroth, for some reason Nargaroth ends in "roth"

  • The Return... Is OFFICIALLY THE FIRST BLACK METAL ALBUM. It meets all black metal standards as we know today, raw production, gloomy atmosphere, brutal riffs, and random solos.

  • Look Sword Kataxu is right and u r wrong. Black metal was indeed influence BY Venom AND Mercyful Fate BUT this bands were influnce by the #1BAND of ALL black metal bands AND tha is my friend BLACK SABBATH. Ever hear the lirycs to their music???

  • It doesn't make sense to have over 4 different videos listing 10 songs on each called my favorite top 10, because that's already 40 songs..

  • Either way - Venom influenced Black Metal 100000x more than Metallica did.

  • No it didn't most bands that you mentioned Bathory etc. formed in 1983+ when Metallica formed in 1981 and by late 1982 they already had Kill 'em All out, since Venom was underground for the longest time.

Metallica hit # 1 charts in 1983 already and became well known all over the world, when very few bands in Norway or Sweden would know Venom good enough to get seriously influenced.

I'm not saying Venom didn't, but NOT 100000x more

  • not really, hear any Black Metal bands sounding like Venom?...NO.

It did START Black Metal which why it is respected but that's all there is to that band.

Bathory was the prototype of Black Metal sound therefor was a big influence BUT the band was put together in 1983 and stayed underground meaning it took good 1-2 years for it to get known and make any influence WHEN Kill 'em All was already out in late 1982.

It's plain facts, get over it.

  • Never heard of first-wave black metal. Metallica was influenced by Venom too, you know. First-wave black metal was influenced by Venom, and OTHER thrash bands, which probably don't include Metallica (though some, I may not doubt, depending on the band), but I'm willing to bet Metallica was not one of the bands that had influence in black metal. Slayer most pobably is the highest influence, Venom, Vulcano -THat's how Hellhammer, Celtic Frost, Possessed, Sarcofago, and Bathory all came about.

  • Black metal was hardly influenced by Metallica, or "Kill 'Em All". Black Metal was influenced by Hellhammer, Celtic Frost, Venom, Bathory... and make no mistake that Venom came WAY before Metallica.

  • i didn't say Venom DIDN'T come "WAY" before metallica.

  • bishop rules

  • sweet metal list i fucking love Burzum, BLACK METAL FOREVER!!!

  • .........no

  • nice list man, better then guys the have a top 10 and list

, gaytallica, bring me the horazor, job for a fagboy....... suicide silence..... man i dont even need to make fun of that name..... wow man we have so really gay metal nowadays.... bring back what was good!!!!

  • i agree

  • I suggest you stfu about metallica if not metallica there wouldn't be any black metal.

and there is some good deathcore out there, NOT suicide silence obviously.

  • all i have to say to you is metallica WAS cool, and i still listen to their old stuff.

and as far as deathcore is concerned..... meh...

  • Metallica is not responsible for black metal, and never will be.

  • yes it is, metalica started thrash, do i have to go any further?

  • No, Metallica did not start Thrash. They formed in '81. Venom formed in '79, Motorhead in '75, and they are the beginnings of thrash. Metallica, Vulcano (arguably the first black metal band), Slayer, and Anthrax all formed the same year... 81. Metallica did not start Thrash, but they were one of the first thrash bands in the 80s.

  • Metallica maybe wasn't the first thrash band but it was the first and the only band that was able to really bring shine and fame to thrash therefor making it world wide famous. . therefor! influencing majoring of all existing black metal bands.

Kill 'em All was the biggest influence to first and second waves of Black Metal in Europe.

Let aside to countless Death, Speed, Thrash and Heavy Metal bands that are still getting influenced.

The only guitar genre that it didn't is probably country.

  • protip: metallica is dragonforce

  • metallica is NOT anywhere near all that satanic stuff like norwegian black metal

  • metalica influenced more metal bands then you can count, black metal also.

  • Lol SwordXevil no Metallica did not start the black metal scene in Norway Venom and Bathory did Metallica and Slayer started thrash in America.

  • i never said Metallica started black metal scene dumbass.

And if you weren't such a fucking poser you would know that first wave of Black Metal was influenced or you can say evolved from thrash and speed metal.

  • Lol i'm the poser yet i see a written comment down below from you stating that metallica started the black metal scene and did i not say that venom and bathory influenced most black metal?

    You are a moron

  • i want you to either buy a thicker pair of glasses or to quote my words WHERE i said "metallica started the black metal scene" you dumb piece of shit, and we'll take it from there on.

  • metalica influenced more metal bands then you can count, black metal also.

There is your word,. and i think it is funny that you called me a dumbass when you are the one that has not been educated.

  • Look who's talking about education, you are a fucking idiot that doesn't know the difference between the word "started" and "influenced". what are you fucking 6??You missed your kindergarten?

fucking start embarrassing me by making me argue with the likes of you.

  • I am not the one getting worked up over something ridiculous you are just angry because you cannot handle the fact that you where wrong you need to take some time to grow up a little before you continue this conversation with me.

  • Lol stop covering your ass, you trying to calm me down now that you realize you have nothing to say.

A typical "Go grow up" answer from a person that is too stubborn and immature to admit that they are wrong.

  • I am not covering my ass because i know what is going on and it seems like you don't, that is the only thing i am saying here.

  • So, I'm not really into black metal much. What exactly qualifies music to be called black metal?

  • Cold sounding melodies, fast tempo, very distorted guitars, simple guitar patterns ;).

  • look up Darkthrone - Transilvanian Hunger

    That album set the standard.

  • Satan, Hate, Death, Killing, etc.

  • imbecile then you obviosly dont know what black metal is

  • jh, really?)

    You're funny kid.

go and listen Cradle of Filth)

  • I bet you're a slipknot fan. I do not listen to cradle of faggotry i listen to true black metal bands that you probably never even heard of.

@hribogriz only because i found his commenting to be very ignorant.

  • Slipknot is good band. Was.

Believe me, I know about back metal much more than many "true" blackers.

  • atmosphere and hate
