They may be coming to Boston soon. Airbus Corporation had one of their A380 land in Boston on Monday 02/08/10 to do some size testing with Taxi/Runway, and gate acceptance.

I'm only disappointed because I heard about the testing on Wednesday, a day after it departed at 8:30AM EST.

Because when you get really tired and want to sleep, you must convert you SEAT into something that more or less resembles a bed.

If you want to sleep in an A380 you can just walk to you BEDROOM and sleep in a real bed.

Anyway, the 787 is a great aircraft and I love it. I´m european but that doesn´t mean that I have to hate Boeing.

The A380 will not be an economically viable platform in the long-run. It will turn into a novelty and eventually die like the Concord, unfortunately. The A380 is too big, costs too much to make, and costs too much to operate. Plus, I feel sorry for the last person who disembarks. What's it hold, five billion trillion people? Good grief. Boeing was smart to focus on a smaller craft in the 787.

Well, according to the captain there were 4 pilots on board: 2 from Lufthansa, and 2 from Airbus' own crew. I don't know why Lufthansa "ran" this operation, but they're the main contractor for the A380, so maybe this includes some privileges.
