I am with everyone here! Much Music SUCKS now! I used to record videos and interview segments off it when I was a teenager! Now it's washed out and unoriginal! The biggest problem.... REALITY TV! But second to that is it's not even about music anymore, it's nothing but reality and tv shows. What happened to the time you could throw a party and have MUCH MUSIC on your tv as the music and dance all night????? MUCH MUSIC IS A SELL OUT!
@Kenster1025 its good when bands break up, then they get into other shit, other bands. have you ever seen a band thats been together too long? its sad, they hate all their own songs and each other. RIP Moist :)
you guys remember when Sook yin Lee pulled her pants down while bent over on live TV? and you saw her coochy too! Rick the temp was so embarrassed, she made him do it too! I think they knew MUCH was going to shit anyway
I used to spend hours taping everything on much music so I could mix a collection of my favorites. Now they hardly play music. Probably because nobody is making music anymore except a select few who have been permanently high since the last era of good music and don't realize the industry has been overrun by brain dead children. Boys wear pink now.....need I say more?
I have fond memories of this song. Having neglected it for many years I ended up listening to it about a week ago. I've not been able to get it out of my head ever since ... and that's not a bad thing.
for the record, this isn't even Much Music, it's Musique Plus, it's french sister station from Quebec, which has sucked just as hard as Much Music has for the last 10 years or so.
funny how the video right before this starts is Our Lady Peace's 'Superman's Dead'. the 90's were as good for Canadian music as the first decade of 2000's has been
and as for people saying "the quality of music in the past while had dropped", I wouldn't say that, the focus has simply changed, Lets face it "rock" died in the 50's,then again in the 70's, then again around 2001, but honestly, the focus simpily changed, Where we have "hard rock" we have Soft Rock, where we had Soft rock we have Folk, where we have "Alternative" we now have "indie". Where we once had Metal we got the "cores" Hardcore/Deathcore/Grindcore, or Boy/girl band pop to Dance pop.
As much as i agree with most of the people on here how the over all quality of the channel has seemingly gone to shit, i would like to point out one minor detail people people seem to have forgotten, What was much music before other then a RADIO STATION that had a visual interface. Don't get me wrong, I loved Much back in the day. i loved the art that the artist added to there music with the videos. but it was just a radio station either way.
Much Music is simple nothing more than an ENTERTAINMENT channel, not a music channel. And by "entertainment" I dont mean what is ENTERTAINING, I mean a celebrity gossip, E-talk daily piece of trash.
I absolutely agree. The 90's were great time to watch Much Music. Now it's just about satisfying horny teeny bopper's urges. And most of the VJ's absolutely have no talent. George Strombopolous was the best!
I actually saw Master T walk into a Metro at Liberty Village in Toronto. I know an employee there who says he comes in all the time. Says he's a producer or something to that effect. And Rick from "combat de clips", hell ya!
@jetsqurriel oh it still is, just real music has seems to have gone underground, now mainstream music is about sex, glamor and substance abuse, only marilyn manson is cool enough to have that as his theme
@365daysgone i totally agree. Hasn't been the same since the late 80's. They actually used to play videos most of the day. I could turn it on and catch a video 90% of the time. Now, I am engorged with nothing but meaningless tripe frosted over with shallow ideas of how social life is. That channel has become to me what the shopping channel always was...never to be clicked on, EVER AGAIN.
@365daysgone it used to be different ... things changed after 99 because of BS (Britney Spears and Backstreet - though Bullshit is just as appropriate)
I don't think I have watched Much Music since about the last time this video was played. Skimming through the channels I can now notice that you cant even see the video's anymore under all the PUNCH MUCH sh*t, but thats not such a bad thing with todays videos either
Yes, I too remember the days when Much Music was all about the music, and went out of their way to support Canadian bands. Ever since Moses Znaimer left (he was the executive producer for everything good on Much) the channel went to the dogs. Much sold out, and turned its back on good Canadian music like Moist.
Here's to the days where Much was something to watch, and Moist made you proud of Canadian music.
I understand originally these guys were into construction and called themselves 'joist'. It's enough to knock the msn outta ya. BRG, GTG totally man....
Everything discussed about music in the 90's being great, MuchMusic going downhill in the 2000's and how music today isn't up to snuff, all I have to say is: Here, here!
I agree. Music circa 1996/1997 was the best. I was around Grade 5/6 then. There was actually meaning in the lyrics instead of people singing about people's drunk nights.
Much Music has gone down hill. For those young folks out there, Much Music used to actually play music videos and now they show crappy reality tv shows. Also, the VJ's were WAY better like Master T, BIll Welchyka, Rick "The Temp", Sook-Yin Lee, etc.
haha, the video before this was supermans dead by OLP... i remember the days where you could watch Much Music for hours and not want to change the channel... now its crap
your soo right now it is crap on much music i wish some of the old bands stayed around but to many teenage girls love those boy bands shame they have no taste
tell me, do they even play videos on much music anymore? Remember the old MOD?? Where you could actually get weird videos you wanted played, played! I never see anything but shit on there now. shit, i say.

yeah... much music was great... you could leave it on all day and never really need to change the channel. Now they play shows about a bunch of hookers trying to cut a record deal (pussycat dolls), or a bunch of rappers showing how much money they can spend before their careers die and they're forgotten. The music industy is pretty much toast for the most part. Indy music is the way to go. I liked your comment by the way.
@DiCkRiChArDz i totally agree! its filled with GARBAGE comercially manufactured music, filled with advertisements of clothing, "style", and models that are not real people lol :p did i mention most of the music is GARBAGE?
@DiCkRiChArDz In my elementary school years i loved the music coming out on much but throughout my highschool years i've come to despize it! I iwsh i was born mmm, say 8 years earlier :(
I've had this song stuck in my head for days. I even went to the Mother, Mother concert last night and as soon as I left I started to sing this again. ;)
ahhh again, back when david usher had a career, why did these guys break up? now he's singing shit like black black heart please tell me what the fuck is up with that?
I seen BBH as an attempt to break into mainstream pop. It wasn't that bad it was like most of the music of the time. You can't base his entire post Moist career on one song. Most of his new albums have great songs.
i laugh how people say bring back moist and david usher is not rock enough on his own but people loved this song which is more the direction he went after moist. David keep making solo records their amazing!!!!!
The only Cd Ive ever stolen was a David Usher album in the summer of '66 i mean 06, it was the one with the singles, something Sun, I forget right at this moment, but yeah The whole album is great, Maybe even in my top 100.
