I don't know if that is the right way,but you can just go to adress book and then new contact and when you have to type in the number,you can change the ringtones and can listen to them. I hope you understand what I mean :]

two ways. one click on phone hit menu, then setting, then general, then incomming call ring. And to do it for a contact go to adress book then click on a person,then click on the number and then custom ring. :)
