Unfortunately in the process of chasing the rat he accidentally knocks the baby's cot over and Aunt Sarah hears it. She sees the cot overturned and calls the dog pound to have the Tramp taken away and destroyed, but Lady shows Jim Dear and Darling the dead rat and then Aunt Sarah realises.
