This game was the first that I ever bought for my own money as a kid. And it sure did hurt! The backwards-jumping through lasers were horrible.
Also, am I the only one who feels that this game originally was a Marvel-licensed one that they lost? You know, Wolverine? Afterall, youre fighting someone who looks a lot like Juggernaut, not to mention that the second to last boss looks extremely much like Magneto!
I used to love that game...... even thought I couldnt get past level 2 :P
I could go as far as the jungle level. The most annoying thing I found about it, other than nothing being explained, was the limited continues, and it even didnt told you how many of them you had! But the most iritating was the wasted potential...., It REALY could be a superb game, but many things about it went wrong....
Also, later on in the game, there are A LOT of cheap deaths. The only way to beat it without loosing your mind is using an emulator, which has save states..... and thats sad :(
Good to see you back to the fold, Nico. So many NES games with such great gameplay concepts, yet so often poorly executed. For some reason, this game reminds me of another shitbiscuit title called Karnov, also from Data East. But at least Werewolf looks a bit more fun than that nightmare we know as Deadly Towers.
Great vid!
