It does not matter. Religion in general is a way of control for the rich and powerful. It keeps the poor in servitude to a system of churches and guilt trips that ultimately play a major role in their political opinions and votes. That in the end keep the rich and powerful rich and powerful and the poor / dying middle class being sacrificed for them for money. Just like Jesus! They can't have a free loving people speaking the truth about man! All they want are good slaves!

Rand came up with the idea of the "virtue of selfishness" -- it's similar to Nietzsche's idea that is the strong should not feel guilty and manipulated to take care of the weak -- those who would otherwise die out as mankind evolves. Therefore, Christian compassion for the weak and needy needs to be jettisoned.

The argument that secular states are more guilty of slaughter is absurd considering the incredible amount of slaughter throughout history done in the name of "God" or religion. Seems to me that man will kill and use any means to justify it including religion.
