When The guitar drops into a solo, bass should fill, double up etc. If bass doesn't fill well, then drummer needs to stay in the pocket. Check "Brangle Bros." video doing same song, bass is excellent.

you are not hearing even a tenth of the sound thats why u get this impression, because we played really loud they over compresed everything for broadcast tv,listen to the guitar sound in the intro

No I hate the texas specials, and of course SRv never used anything reminisent to them.

they are japanese fender bridge and mid, and neck is a jackson, which was underwound by a good freind of mine untill we were happy with the sound. with 11's u dont need overwound pups such as the TS

it was good until it came to the solo. The problem with only one guitar is that there's something missing when the guitar goes into solos.

Stevie Had his own style of playing and his solo's were full of energy and fire so there isn't a 'drop' when he goes into the solo. unlike this guy who's solo starts off slow and lacks energy. Don't get me wrong this band is good and SRV is great, but this band needs more fire in the solo.

Thats an SRV signature which i changed the neck to a fender maple 40 anniv and put jumbo frets,

the original rosewood just sounded too dark, no matter what pups i used

Yes, I understand it, I think it's the pau-ferro fretboard combined with the texas special PU, sucks! I changed my SRV's fretboard to rosewood, and now it sounds warmer (also changed the PU). Thanks for the reply, keep it up!
