  • Love the flying toasters!! Can you post a video of the DareDevil Dan screensaver? I cant find it anywhere on youtube. Also will this work on windows 7? Thanks

  • @dannyboy823 I'm afraid I can't make a video on that screensaver because I no longer have Aftrr Dark and I can't find any other place online that has it. And yes, it does work with Windows 7.

  • I have vista home basic 32 bit, and can only get the toasters to work. Gotta get the others to work...

  • I Got After Dark 4.0 To Run On My 64 Bit Machine With Windows 7, But The Only Option Is The Flying Toasters. Any Ideas How To Get The Rest Of The Modules To Work?!?!?!

  • @daboys18syobad I'm not 100% sure if this will work, but maybe you could try running the main After Dark program in Windows '95 compatibility mode. Let me know if you have any luck doing this.

  • Um.... what the hell do you have running in the background to take up that much of the CPU?

Then again, I've heard Vista is poop so it might just be that.....

  • @OMGhappiness The screen recorder is what takes up a lot of my CPU when using it. Usually not much of it is being used.

  • I actually have an original copy of V4.0. I am going to try the "Dan the Computer Man" site to see what happens with Vista Ultimate 64 bit. I want all of the old ones to work!! Thanks.

  • Dan... Dan... Dan... Get out more often. The composers name is pronounced Vog-nurr... not Wagner... better luck

  • The after dark setup.exe will not run. It says something about X64 incompatible. Am I SOL? or is there still a way I can run it?

  • @xentrox Have you tried running it in a 32-bit compatibility mode, or something older like ME/2000, or 98/95? Otherwise, you might be out of luck because 64-bit operating systems have trouble running some 16-bit apps.

  • @saxman112 yeah looks like I'm screwed. I pm'd you about what I'm going to do next. :)

  • @Dielandvermessen Yes, it will. It won't work on 64-bit though because only 32-bit operating systems have backwards compatibility with 16-bit programs.

  • Awww.... memories! Thanks for posting!

  • uhm... we need and Open Source afterdark module interpreter so we can still use this screensavers on modern platforms.

  • Oh wow

This makes me all warm and fuzzy inside haha

    Thanks :D

  • Where do I download it at? Or do I have to buy it?

  • @DavStaggs Just watch my "Dan the Computer Man" episode on how to install After Dark 3.2 on Windows XP or Vista.

  • I miss the Simpsons After Dark one :[ I could never make it work again...

  • do more

  • What version of Vista are you running?

  • Home Premium

  • I got some old CDs for Windows 3.1 and Windows 95 as well :) It works for XP and Vista and probably future versions XD

Those CDs are simple games for small kids like learning Phonics, ABCs etc.

  • Where do I get it? I really like it :)

  • You can search "how to run After Dark 3.2 on Windows XP". Even though it says how to run it on Windows XP, it will also work on Vista as well.

  • But how do I get it? Is it free?

  • After you search that, go to the first link, and then click on the link that says "afterdarkxp.zip". Then, after that's saved, extract the folder to your desktop and click update. This will make it work better for XP or Vista. You do not have to change the place where it extracts. After that, it will be installed under C:\afterdrk.

  • If you're wondering how to then install this screensaver, it is with the After Dark 3.0 module. So now scroll down and click on AfterDark_30_XP.zip. Save this folder. Then, open this folder and extract the AfterDark 30 Module zip folder to C:\afterdrk. If After Dark 3.2 is running, close it and reopen it. It will then update the module list and add After Dark 3.0. You will now have the Flying Toasters screensaver.
