  • Love a bit of Rory Gallagher...good stuff stow!

  • How can you possibly sit in front of this amp with the volume "flat out"! I have one also and my ears start to bleed after about 5...

  • Comment removed

  • can someone tell me what finish is the Les Paul...maybe Light Burst?

  • Nice playing!

  • Fuck the washin

  • Leo Fender is not going to be happy that you are playing a Les Paul through his amp!!!

  • dude nice cover that sounded sick

  • nice tone!!!!! hard to get a lp and a blues jr. to sound that way. THE DIRTY CLOTHES IN THE BACK ARE VERY ROCK N ROLL!!!! ROCK ON MAN!!!

  • gibson guitars and fender amps match up nicely. used to use a LP standard and a twin. nowadays its a 50s strat and a tweed blues jr.

  • Nice Video, I recently got a Blues Junior myself. It's a lovely amp.

  • i meant the bj is a middy amp, so should be paired with a speaker that is more scooped with less mid emphasis

  • Sounds fucking amazing!

  • Does it have a Line-Out jack?

  • That sound and your playing skill is just great, that's exactly the tone and music I want to hear! :D

  • Wow dude love the tone your getting. I have a robe just like that

  • Bad Penny, like for that! :)

  • Nice to see there are other Rory Gallagher fans out there. Great playing!

  • This video makes me so happy I own a Blues Junior. The voice is just so sweet! The BJ has become one of my all time favorite amps. And to think that this little tube amp is as affordable as it is. Crazy... I got an idea of the BJ's amazing voice through Line6 modeling software. I couldn't help but notice it was one of the best sounding models up against models of some of the most sought after amps in history. When I started looking into the real thing my assumptions became a reality. Wonderful!

  • Rory my passion!coool!

  • What volume did you have the amp set at for this demo?

  • Can you plug a Fender Blues Jnr into a Marshall 16ohm cab? Is there a separate speaker output?... Hope Im making sense. PS Youve got great taste in amps!

  • where did you learn to play?

  • Great tone, man. With simple set !

  • If you;re going to play Rory you should ahve done Laundromat!

  • I loved the sound / performance ! Thank you, Stow !

  • im sold im gonna get one sounds so nice with your Gibson Les Paul hopefully mine will be no exception nice playing tho i really enjoyed that!

  • holy shit you playin Rory Gallagher? thats pretty sweet man...not many people know who he is!

  • @UFCfanboy7898 Too Much Alcohol

  • Awesome playing, man.

  • how can i get as good as you dude?

  • did you ever get around to doing the laundry?? great playing

  • real good jammin'. how long you been playing for?

  • excellent !!!

  • Rory Gallagher's song. nice vids.

  • How many watts in a transistor amplifier equals the Fender Blues Junior?

  • Technically, I don't know, but it this amp sounds about as loud as a 50 watt transistor amp. I borrowed a Blues Jr. from someone and it was almost twice as loud as my 30 watt transistor amp. People will tell you that 15 watts is 15 watts, but your ears will tell you differently.

  • can it keep up with a drummer? (an indie drummer, so not a very loud drummer)

  • Luukjuh49, yes, it can keep up easily. I play a lot of Black Keys and Dinosaur Jr. songs with it. Actually, the clean channel might break up slightly if you get it loud enough to compete with a loud drummer. It can still get pretty loud and keep perfectly clean, though.

  • ok, thanks man! I was planning to save up for a hotrod but since the junior will also keep up with a drummer I think I should take the junior.

  • Those are nice too, but really really loud for home use. Good luck!

  • hard to compare...but multiply the tube wattage by three is usally right i think...

  • watts are watts...its a perceived difference in volume. theres plenty of info out there about this.

  • Yeah Rory Gallagher FTW!!!!

  • stow what do you think is best this or a peavery classic..cheers mate

  • @fretboarder personal preference...I love the peavey classic, assuming you are talking about the 30. Does need a foot switch though.

  • @iceman10129 yep i was but i decided to get a marshall dls401 it was a offer i couldnt leave at half the retail plus its a amazing amp..cheers man..

  • is he the guy from Oasis ?

    the english band member ?

  • they're all english and no its not.

  • no thats noel gallagher

    this is rory gallagher

  • No the guy from oasis isnt as good as this. ooo controversy....

  • Rory is coo. Way coo. Awesome playing

  • beers and cheers!!

  • I borrowed one of these from a guy I work with. I'm would like to buy either a Blues Junior, a Hot Rod Deluxe, or possible a Vox AC 15.

  • rory!

  • Now,

Just move that into 1/8th Swing triplets - and Get to a STUDIO.

    Fine, fine Sound, Brother.

    (and Laid Back, too. Cool.)

    Cooper

  • Congratulatons with a great talent and the ability to communicate. Love every tone !

  • dont no the song but sounds real good

  • wow, really impressive... lovley tone.

im thinking bout buying one my own, i just wonder, if it would be loud enough to keep up with a band, still beeing clean?

  • Hello, it wont stay clean with a band.. now way! I used to play flat out and sometimes it got lost unless it was mic up or sat on chair, but then you loose a bit of bottom

  • thx for your fast answer.

you think it is enough with an extra 1x12" or 2x12"?

i just love the sound, and when i did see the weight of this little thing, i completely did fall in love. (im not the youngest one out there and love the idea to have a little combo)

  • @muaB76 I have to dissagree. It has a volume, and master volume, so it can get very loud clean.

  • Bad Penny FTW!!!!!!!!!Rory Rocks

  • Is that the blues jr nos or just the one with the fender special design speakers?

  • wow verry impressive u sound like a more talented neil youg but much cleaner and more intense

  • wtf who gave me a thumbs down fuck u doosh bag lmb

  • shit i wish i could play like you, sounds sick though

  • i love that sound omg!

  • Nice man!!!

  • Wäsche waschen!!!!

  • your les paul shounds better in the blues breaker. Get a tele or strat to bring that speaker to life.

  • Just got mine for £200 :-)))))

  • good job! nice tone!

  • Is this straight from the amp ??

i'm thinking about getting one very soon

How much volume did u turn up to in this vid to get this tone? My concern is that I live in a university dorm, and so i have a limit as to how loud i can play it =(

  • i think it is the amp drive. But to get the drive you would have to turn it up a bit loud so it probably would be too loud maybe even clean for a college dorm. unless maybe you play it at one or two. some good less wattage fender tube amps are the pro junior or i dont know but maybe the champion 600. and hey if you got the money the 57 champ. Its overpriced but the tones would be awesome

  • Its a bit of both, this amp is a GREAT amp! I wish I still had it! Maybe I will buy one again when I have some cash!

  • hiya i hope you can help me with this

should i get this fender blues jr or vox ac15cc1

i prefered your amp in this colour =]

the black (blues jr) isnt that nice .

  • champion 600 has good drive at lower volume if you want to stick to fender. The vox ac4 tv has wattage settings so you can crank it at lower volumes.

  • ok epicfailsam.. shut the hell up lol everybody has opinions ya know.

  • hey I was just throwin' suggestions around, cool it.

  • Love the colour of that LP!

  • great classic rock tone

  • I've just slapped a Celestion Green Back in a 90's Fender Pro Junior. It sounds fucking amazing. Get one of these amps if you can find them, but don't bother with the new ones, they sound too harsh.

  • you can change the tubes if you think they're too harsh. It makes a big difference. santana's favorite tubes go great in fenders

  • Love Rory!

  • I need this amp. I have the guitar. Whered you get you get the BT? Im like the same style playing of the guitar than you.

  • the smell of that dirty laundry confuses me, wat the hell are you playing duuude

  • Its the clean washing in the basket..LOL!! I needed to put it away!

  • @StowBurst Guitar goes first. :D

  • dude you need to do your laundry first before you can rock out in the free world. awesome vid by the way!

  • damn that dirty clothes basket is soakin up du sound lol

  • amazing drive

  • YES!! RORY GALLGHER!!! I love the amp!!!

  • Thx for the tip meatball... by the way is this a Gibson les paul standard 50' colour: heritage cherry sunburst?

  • No it's not an orange amp. Learn to read the description before you comment...

    "LTD Tweed Blues Jr"

  • Really?

  • Rory is my hero. Thanks for this lil' tribute. Rock on

  • u rock!

    really fantastic playing and sound!

    I like it!

  • Comment removed

  • enough rory.

    do your damn laundry!

  • vraiment bien bien ! j'aime beaucoup !

  • Yes you must know the danger of mixing your colours and whites together like that, very tricky to get out...

  • sounding good !! Now put the guitar down and get yer ironing done ! NOW !!!!

  • that's max volume?!?!?!?!?! I have the same amp and think that max volume with the pre-amp all the way up would be way louder. you rocked that shit btw.

  • dude you rock your fucking les paul!!!

  • song sounds just like "needle and the spoon" by Skynyrd.

  • yea it does sound like some skynard

  • It sounds like Highway Song by Blackfoot.

    Great sound :D

  • YEAH RORY!!! NICE ONE LAD!

  • like the bit of rory gallagher being played there!

  • Hey ! Very Good Player, Very Good Guitar, Very Good amp ! Great !!

  • Man, you look like Noel Gallagher.

  • cos all us brits look the same....

  • except noel has great shoes.

  • How good's this amp for clean jazz?

  • Its good for jazz, i got one and i use it everyday, great reverb highs and lows

  • I was just talking about this song today with a friend who'd never heard of Rory G. And here you are playing it. Nice playing and nice gear. Cheers.

  • What is the name of this song?

  • Bad Penny by Rory Gallagher.

  • Read his video description.

  • Sounds great... I think I am gonna get this amp for myself...

  • Do it, I got one. It is the most powerful and sweet sounding 15 watts you will hear anywhere.

  • I got off it, because it sound to lame for me when playing real rock. For blues it still sounds awesome.

  • Yeah, don't buy this thing if you want thick distortion or any bottom end really.

Very bright, smooth and lovely clean and blues breakup tones. This amp tells no lies.

  • I just got my Kustom Defender and it kicks ass! Clean as good as the Fender BJ, and crunch ROCKS! And its cheaper

  • very nice. how long have you been playing? wonderful skills

  • I got my 1st guitar when I was 11 on December 25th 1989..been playing ever since..

  • what was ur first guitar

  • It was Encore Strat copy! Black and White

  • nice amp,les paul,AIR MAX!

  • love the song, love rory, love the amp. good playing man.

ps. is this amp worth the extra money compared to the standard blus jr?

  • does this have a speaker out,i wanna put it thru a cab

  • It does have a speaker out. Unfortunately you can't run the speaker housed in the blues Jr and run an extension simultaneously. It's one or the other and it's at 8ohms only.

  • sounds gold rock on brotha

  • Nice robe dude and time to wash some clothes but I guess the pile is going to get bigger since you just got this wonderful little amp.

  • how much did this cost you?

  • I think it was £200? Can;t remember.. wish I still had it actually

  • thats the mojo dude!! 5*

yea i've one coming down my doorstep next week hehe

  • I have the Blues Junior Hot Rod Series regular, not the NOS: it doesn't have the Jensen speaker. It's freakin LOUD. I dont put either volume over 2, and it cranks.

  • I love that you are playing Rory Gallagher. Nice to see someone who appreciates great music. Awesome job!!!

  • What you on about you wally? That's no Woman tone! Open ya ears bruv!

  • lexist7, u mean clapton?

  • yeah, i did. i must be wrong though. :-)

I THOUGHT it sounded like his tone in the early days when he would just plug into a little tweed amp.

  • Well, some people must be uptight here :)

To me the "womantone" is when the tonecontrol on the guitar is backed all the way down.

I think Clapton shows it here in a interview video from the 68 where he looks pretty psychadelic and shows some trix, bends and vibratos with his guitar. Search clapton and SG.

  • yes, i saw that video.

i really think some of the licks here sounded similar to that humbucker tone but without the tone controls zeroed.

haha, don't worry i don't give too much worth to negative comments here on youtube if they aren't constructive.

    thank you, baskethilt.

    cheers.

  • guess i contradicted myself.

woman or not, great tone. :)

  • I have the regular type of Blues Junior not the special tweed version they both sound the same pretty much. I also have a Les Paul mines a 58 reissue and with that amp you dont have to crank it to get that sweet tone. All I do is crank up the volume all the way up and then put the master volume down. That way I can heat the tubes up fully but the amp itself isnt that loud to the master volume control. You can do that with pretty much any amp with a volume and master volume control

  • AWESOME!!!!

  • kick ass

  • Awesome. This is the tone I've been looking for.

  • dude nice playin', but could you fold your laundry?

  • hey is your tweed same as a regular blues junior ?( the blonde version)thanks!

  • The tweed version has a Jensen C12-N speaker instead of the simple Fender-branded speaker, as well as new old-stock (NOS) tubes.

  • cool playing I just go the tolex amp

  • I've got the same amp and a custom shop Les Paul to boot, but just don't sound anywhere near as good as you when I play mine. Maybe it's my guitar cable-what do you think? O'k maybe I need a lot more practice. lol. Seriously, I love your tone, feel, and playing style-hope I learn to play this well some day. I really enjoy your videos.Cheers

  • questions for u...r u in a band?if so wats it called?how long have u been playin?how many guitar u have? How many song u know how to cover?and wat your fav brand of guitar?my fav Gibson

  • has this amp got the stock speaker in it?

if i bought one of those today would i be able to get that tone?

  • Simply Awesome. Very nice playing. Great YouTube Guitarist. Keep Rockin...

  • Rory G, Really nice. Grea sound outa the LP Blues Jr combo.

  • what's all the fuss about MESA? that les paul sounds great.

  • Your playing is good, but your timing is off. you need to focus on playing on the beat. Maybe standing up would help. If each not you hit was right on the beat your playing would sound twice as good.

  • Since im resonably sure it was to sell the equiptment... i dont think he was too concerned lol.

  • that was awesome great job

  • that was most epic

  • That is the best tone I ve herad form you.

You should dig in a bit more with your right, picking hand..

    Or use ticker pick(plectrum)

  • what are your commants on the reissue fender tween blues deluxe all tube 2x12

  • NICE SOLOOO i love it! ,, !

  • is there an output to hook up a cab?

  • thanx for answerin but there is one thing left to ask what should i do, because i use a mashall guvnor plus and a crybaby wah wah pedal my fender is a nice bluesy amp i use the clean with a crunch but my distortion is alittle weak for my zeppelin so i use my marshall for the high gain. should i ditch that and juts use the wah wah or ditch both pedals and play straight through. please answer

  • hey i know u probley dont ever answer but i play with a les paul an a fender andi was wondering do u have a peadal board or u play strait through i am talking overall not just this clip please answer stow

  • Hello, I dont use any pedals becasue I want to hear the sound of the guitar and amp. I just plug in and play an use the volume pot to clean up the sound. I wish I kept this amp as its a little monster!

  • Awesome playing! Now do your laundry! Hopefully, my BJ NOS Tweed will arrive this week sometime. Was considering checking out the Jensen P12n (alnico) or one of the vintage alnico Webers. Again, great playing on a great song.

  • @sterlingindigo did you put Jensen p12n in

I saw at their site they have p12n-NB i dont know how they are different from p12-n but sounded warmer at the Jensen site. Blues juior is inherently a small combo which retains boxiness and mods/ I find that mine is heavily mid voiced where it needs to be attenuated and lowered on the controls.

Since the only element that a small combo like this that is not even made of real wood, would be real bass response. .

  • @sterlingindigo

I believe the Jensen p12 and also the celestion greenback copy gb128 focus on the lows with definition nut moderate highs you want peaks in the 100-300 hz ange and 1-2 hz peaks for snarkiness and snottiness to slice through the mix, as in a marshall crunch

Did you replace the BJ stock speaker with P12n??

  • Awesome tone! Superb playing and musicianship! Nice job buddy!

  • Pro-tip: get a stock black Blues Jr., relpace the speaker with a Weber Blue Dog ceramic or AlNiCo speaker. They're noticibly louder (because they're more efficient) and not so mid-rangy like the Jensen C12N. I mean, the mid-range is good for some
