I have compared this amp to my VIBE DOLPHIN 20 and… my Vibe is sooo much better!
Vibe Dolphin it has more drive and sustain, is more dynamic, it’s lighter and it has a great reverb and tremolo sounds! Last but not least, Vibe is cheaper!!
This video makes me so happy I own a Blues Junior. The voice is just so sweet! The BJ has become one of my all time favorite amps. And to think that this little tube amp is as affordable as it is. Crazy... I got an idea of the BJ's amazing voice through Line6 modeling software. I couldn't help but notice it was one of the best sounding models up against models of some of the most sought after amps in history. When I started looking into the real thing my assumptions became a reality. Wonderful!
Can you plug a Fender Blues Jnr into a Marshall 16ohm cab? Is there a separate speaker output?... Hope Im making sense. PS Youve got great taste in amps!
Can you plug a Fender Blues Jnr into a Marshall 16ohm cab? Is there a separate speaker output?... Hope Im making sense. PS Youve got great taste in amps!
Technically, I don't know, but it this amp sounds about as loud as a 50 watt transistor amp. I borrowed a Blues Jr. from someone and it was almost twice as loud as my 30 watt transistor amp. People will tell you that 15 watts is 15 watts, but your ears will tell you differently.
Luukjuh49, yes, it can keep up easily. I play a lot of Black Keys and Dinosaur Jr. songs with it. Actually, the clean channel might break up slightly if you get it loud enough to compete with a loud drummer. It can still get pretty loud and keep perfectly clean, though.
Hello, it wont stay clean with a band.. now way! I used to play flat out and sometimes it got lost unless it was mic up or sat on chair, but then you loose a bit of bottom
you think it is enough with an extra 1x12" or 2x12"?
i just love the sound, and when i did see the weight of this little thing, i completely did fall in love. (im not the youngest one out there and love the idea to have a little combo)
How much volume did u turn up to in this vid to get this tone? My concern is that I live in a university dorm, and so i have a limit as to how loud i can play it =(
i think it is the amp drive. But to get the drive you would have to turn it up a bit loud so it probably would be too loud maybe even clean for a college dorm. unless maybe you play it at one or two. some good less wattage fender tube amps are the pro junior or i dont know but maybe the champion 600. and hey if you got the money the 57 champ. Its overpriced but the tones would be awesome
I've just slapped a Celestion Green Back in a 90's Fender Pro Junior. It sounds fucking amazing. Get one of these amps if you can find them, but don't bother with the new ones, they sound too harsh.
that's max volume?!?!?!?!?! I have the same amp and think that max volume with the pre-amp all the way up would be way louder. you rocked that shit btw.
It does have a speaker out. Unfortunately you can't run the speaker housed in the blues Jr and run an extension simultaneously. It's one or the other and it's at 8ohms only.
I have the Blues Junior Hot Rod Series regular, not the NOS: it doesn't have the Jensen speaker. It's freakin LOUD. I dont put either volume over 2, and it cranks.
To me the "womantone" is when the tonecontrol on the guitar is backed all the way down.

Pro-tip: get a stock black Blues Jr., relpace the speaker with a Weber Blue Dog ceramic or AlNiCo speaker. They're noticibly louder (because they're more efficient) and not so mid-rangy like the Jensen C12N. I mean, the mid-range is good for some
Love a bit of Rory Gallagher...good stuff stow!

@sterlingindigo
I believe the Jensen p12 and also the celestion greenback copy gb128 focus on the lows with definition nut moderate highs you want peaks in the 100-300 hz ange and 1-2 hz peaks for snarkiness and snottiness to slice through the mix, as in a marshall crunch
