@amityville771 Gonna have to disagree--yes its very dark and depressing, touching on subjects that make us wince--however the story of the comeback of this one particular young man makes this movie an absolute triumph. Who doesn't pull for the underdog? When the old lady says "Welcome", its over. The miracle completed.

This is truly an amazing movie. A wonderful piece of art. I don't know how accurate the script was the the actual experience of the real Antwone Fisher but it was well done regardless. A fine look into what it means to be a man and a strong man. To overcome the adversities and boundaries set by those we can't control. Love it!! <3

OK, I am going to HAVE to buy this movie. The acting is incredible. The story is touching. There's nothing bad at all about this move...except for the fact that some poor man had to actually endure all of this stuff as a child. I can't even fathom mistreating a child, but sadly this story is reflected in the news on a weekly basis. (Often after the child has died, thanks to inept people in CPS) Anyway, I know I'll cry a lot, but must see the whole thing.

I just seen this movie on TV.. I couldn't help but laugh at how much of a rip off it is of the movie 'Good Will Hunting'. The only difference is the characters are black and it revolves around the navy, rather than a bunch of white guys who work Construction. I aint saying this movie is bad, cuz I thought it was good. But people should realize this is a massive rip off.
