Crappy...Classic...In the time it was state of the art, and still holds a special place in my heart. As to call it crappy?well, maybe kind of lame and old fashioned. After the first POTA came out, they took the franchise and ran with it not realizing they were losing parts of its integrity along the way. By the time 2001 rolled around, "integrity" had been run over with a steam roller. Let's see that again in November 2011 when Rise of the Apes debuts!
Bill Bonds was the anchorman for channel 7 in Detroit. He did not, repeat, did not have to act for this movie. He told the truth. The apes can speak! Which leads me to another movie...Day Of The Dead. A documentary on the daily activities of a Detroiter....
At the time Mr. Bonds appeared in this scene, he had a sojourn with KABC-TV in Los Angeles. (This was not to be the last time he would be anchoring outside of the Motor City where he's been most associated, as he was with WABC-TV in New York from 1975 to 1977.)
Look at Bill Bonds co-anchor Diana Lewis She used be on KABC with Christine Lund in 1976 before heading to WXYZ with Bill Bonds. Didn't John Hambrick take Bill Bonds KABC seat in 1976 and then Jerry Dunphy would replace John Hambrick at KABC who later went to KRON, WNBC and WTVJ.
The thing that gets me about this movie is that the people are shocked that the apes can talk, but the fact they walk around like humans, piloted a ship, wear clothes and packed for the trip hardly even fazes them!
You should post the part where Zera is given the intelligence test and the psychologist lady asks (while the banana is within reach) "Why doesn't she take it?" and Zera says "Because I loathe bananas!" and the psychologist faints. lol
Sad to think. Sorry you feel that way about people. I wonder what people really think of you. Maybe you should consider suicide. I think you will feel alot better. Go ahead and try it.
