I have a hard time to believe, that of all candidates the US has to offer, this guy is the most qualified. Looks like he was chosen because of his skin colour. He doesn't look like he could compete with Wernher von Braun, he rather looks like hes hungry for some fried chicken with watermelon.
Wernher von Braun wasn't a Nazi, but yes, he would have worked for the devil. That's why he left Germany and went to the US. This guy is a joke compared to him. I guess thats just Obamas way of saying "GTFO THE UNIVERSE, CRACKERS!".
Nasa should be leaned down and focus more on cooporation with the ESA and the Russian space agency. Face it is a relic leftover from the Cold War and unless there is no grand projects (can we afford it?) it's just a white elephant.

At 62 he is not old. From this respect, he might have more experience than someone in 30's. At that age someone can have a lot of energy to work and it is not like someone in the 80's. I don't think it is a reason to be concerned.
