I have one question though, how does the frog not get bitten by the mouse? I would have thought the mouse could injure the frog by biting or scratching it before it is digested?
Because frogs are ambush predators. They sit and wait for their food to come to them. Cold blooded animals can't afford to waste energy running down their prey so that is why they've adapted themselves to wait for months at a time for the opportunity to eat.
