Manfred did have a loving relationship if you well with a lady of the same name whom her character is based off of, but the German Cenima (not hollywood which doesnt produce that many good movies) added in a lot of the love scenes an stuff to make it more dramatic. So not a girlfriend in our sense.

Or, if Manfred had a girlfriend, he was quiet about it. We tend to forget that Manfred and the others tended to be in their early to mid-twenties and died well before turning 30, usually. They were young men busy with a war. I think Manfred was only 25 when he died, which again shows the horrible waste. Churchill rightly said that Britain lost a whole generation of men to that war, which is frightening. Germany and others lost as much, too.

Where can I find movie stills from this movie? How about movie posters from when it played in Germany? Cards from the movie? Such as, the postcards they created for the movie to be like the acrtual Sanke cards Germany put out at the time ... because they were like large baseball cards.

It's not supposed to be historically correct - it's not a documentary but a movie that is supposed to entertain people and as long as it does that why does it bother you so much that some parts of the story are incorrect.

If you want to see the real stuff watch the History Channel! :D

This is a nice movie. I think that Monterey Media is to be comended for puttingit out. I see where on June 1st it will be able to be purchased on DVD. Trust me, this is a nice movie. I am going to purchase one for me and a couple for friends for Christmas gifts.

I am not sure, but rumors are out that this movie will soon be released in the USA. It is a wonderful movie, in either language. I was amazed at how well it was done and want a DVD copy.

This whole period of time is interesting. It was the last hiccup of the 19th century and its quaint notions of fair play in war. I wish someone would do a movie like that and include Oswald Boelcke in it. He was the Baron's mentor and hero. We really lose out not learning about Boelcke, Immelmann, Hawker, Voss, Udet, Guynemer, Bishop, Fonck and many others. There is a great story yet to be told for people who have not been taught much about it so far.

The movie is good entertainment, though I admit it lacks somewhat in the historical accuracy department. It makes a good story, though.

If you want to see an excellent German-made war movie, watch "Stalingrad," which came out in 1993. It is an anti-war movie and then some. Some of the battle scenes were so life-like in that movie that I almost thought I was storming the factory district with them. Many thanks to the people who made that one.

Reg dich ab. Die Filme sind doch alle so. Die tapferen Amis rennen ins MG42-feuer ohne einen kratzer zu bekommen, während die Deutschen Soldaten immer blöd rumrennen, nicht zurückschiessen und sich abknallen lassen.

Der Film ist aber echt gut, da kann man nix sagen.

Das stimmt. Der Jude hat mich ja nicht so gestört aber die Käthe hat genervt. Das war fast eher russischer Akzent den die gequasselt hat. Ansonsten war der Film wirklich super und ich verstehe nicht warum die Kritiker den Film so runtergemacht haben. Filme werden niemals realistisch sein. Um richtigen Realismus des Krieges rüberzubringen müssten wir einen echten Krieg führen.....

Ich hab den Film auch gesehen und mir hat er sehr gut gefallen! Man darf sich von den ganzen schlechten Kritiken nicht beeinflussen lassen, der film ist grossartig fotografiert, Ausstattung ist beeindruckend, sieht alles richtig gross aus! I love this Movie!!!

Ausserdem macht der Film einem klar dass man Krieg nicht als Sport oder Wettkampf betrachten sollte. Am Ende des Films sieht man wohin das führt.

also ich fide, wenn man den geschichtlichen Hintergrund von richthofen kennt sieht man, dass der Film davon abweicht. Trotzalledem, finde ich den Film klasse, gerade wegen der genialen Geschichte die dahinter steckt.

Egal ob man den Film gut oder schlecht findet, sollte man sich verwirklichen das diese Männer bzw dieser Mann die LETZTEN ''RITTER'' der NEUZEIT waren.

Deshalb finde ich es gut dass der Film entstanden ist, um sich an die Flieger des ersten Weltkrieges zu erinnern.

Auch damit: Die Geschichte ist gut, es gibt keine martialischen Gemetzel, sogar Flugszenen sind nicht die Hauptsache. Dieser Richthofen ist kein historischer, auch wenn sich zu Viele darüber selbst belügen wollen.

Den Film kann man sich ansehen. Er unterhält wirklich nicht schlecht.
