IE8's are nice but dated, the JVC-FX700 is better. It's not just one or two models that are better than the beats in-ears, its dozen and dozens of companies that make up the crowded in-ear market.

I don't trust any artists to know how to mix and master music. Having said that, I was raised with music in studio for much of my youthful days. So no, I shouldn't have said that about knowing instruments to knowing good speakers.

@darkwolf328 You really need to stop whining about build quality and pick up the HD 25-(1/Original). The build is plastic, but it can take a beating like no other. For example, if you toss it out a third story window, kick it around, snag the cable in a thorn bush and yank the cable out, it'll be fine. A few scratches in the headband and cable though over a year, though. It's wholly user serviceable and replaceable. They also sound sound pretty good out an ipod and seal out noise quite well.
