There was a shipment of grain from Menethil which was tainted with the plauge. Arthas and Jiana found out that the shipment had been sent to Stratholme but found out it was to late. He order Uther to Purge the city, but as a righteous paladin, he couldnt not bare to think of this. Arthas then banished Uther and went on to purge. Its inside the city where he met Mal`Ganis, who later on pursuaded him into the path of the lich.

So everyone is aware: On the beta you can now complete this zone. What happened is the Infinite Dragonflight has caused the grain (as seen in my video) to not look like it is bad. You have to use this item to make it back to it's original, green spewing form, allowing arthas to see it and kill all of the citizens. If you don't then I assume he will decide the grain isn't poisoned and he wouldn't kill them, and the scourge would get much stronger.

In a quest, depending on if your horde or alliance, Darion Mograine gives you a letter for King Varian Wrynn/Warchief Thrall. And then your more or less hated until you hand in the letter. So, your right, but your not. Happy? Probably not.

the naga used to be high elves that lived peacefully with the night elves, hwoever the high elves had a taste for arcane power thus driving them insane, malfurion (i am not too sure) sent them away, banishing them to their city. their city sinks to the bottom of the ocean, hence them mutating into naga. illidan claims he can redeem them if they join his cause. i m pretty sure the black temple used to be sacred for the dranei too. anyone care to help clarify?

And I did read the quests and lore. Wanna know something? I didn't find anything that really said the Alliance and Horde hate them. I've seen stuff that says they're "a necessary evil, similiar to warlocks" but nothing about anyone really hating on them. And also, I REALLY doubt the undead and blood elves would be in the horde if Thrall hated them. Thrall is Warchief, undisputed leader of the Horde, therefore really anything he says goes.

Pretty much anyone or anything can die, and therefore pretty much anyone or anything can be risen to fight for the Scourge.

That, AND draenei have paladins. Most death knights are either undead paladins or corrupted paladins. Mostly the latter in terms of draenei.

Not wanna argue, but that most of the Death Knights are fallen paladins is wrong. there are 3 generations of Death Knights. The orc ones, the Arthas one, and what we have now. What we have now are just heroes that was rezzed to fight the Scarlet Crusade and lure out Tirion Fordring.

The portal also exists in the current version of Stratholme. It is also blocked off, but was to lead to Naxxramas. Eventually they created a different way to get to Naxx but kept the portal. I assume it's the same.

It is also quite possible the Infinite Dragonflight will play some part. I don't understand why they would want to prevent the city from burning but I don't know. I guess we'll have to buy the expansion and find out what this CoT is all about then hm?

I think there will be quest that requires you to burn down all of the buildings before Mal'ganis does. It's a speculation, but if I do see a quest like that when I get the expansion, I would say, "How in the world will I burn hundreds of houses before Mal'ganis does?!". And then I'll be like, "Oh yeah Arthas had a whole army with him when he did it. Oh well, I'll let them do the work".
