The drummer who replaced Collins who was replaced by Nir Z - 2 great drummers however, this drummer here was perfect to bring Gabriel back to Genesis and to its roots... GREAT JOB GUYS!
Sounds great hearing a Genesis tune with a phat Hammond sound as opposed to the rather tame (but still great) Tony Banks Hammonds. Great version, I just don't like the vocals. Seems like the guy tries to sound "contemporary" (a mixture between Bono, cool, edgy and "I don't care" which seem to be he thing for about 20 years now). Nah. Genesis without imitating: yes- trying to sound trendy: NO!!!!!
And since NDV was part of genesis for all of like 2 hours you could make the point that this wasn't even really a cover (it would be hard but you could make it).
WOW some harsh coments here, SB is one of the best Prog bands out there. They can stand side by side with Genesis on the prog Marquee. But to that point they are NOT Genesis and therefore have no intention of sounding exactly like Genesis. Their simply having fun with one of their biggest influences songs.
My hats off to them. Great Job SB, keep it up. As for the rest of you wankers stop watching your drunk ass dad and watch some of Spock's Beard's original stuff. Get schooled in prog rock.
you may not like the vocals but that kid used to be the replacement of collins when he left genesis and on his own band spocks beard ended doing the same as him from drummer to vocals
There ae two singeres for Genesis: Gabriel and Collins. This guy is terrible. Collins is an amazing drummer and very underated. Sadly., Genesis was died after ABACAB.
The singer here is Nick D'Virgilio; he drummed a few songs on Calling All Stations (as well worked with Tears for Fears). He was close friends with Kevin Gilbert who was to audition to replace Collins before he died in '96. NDV completed Gilbert's work "Shaming of the True". KGs work is highly recommended for Genesis fans, as is Nick D'Virgilio's contributions.
Ouch, those vocals... Lounge Squonk! Tempo was a click slow, too. Drumming not nearly as good as the original. For me, the best part was when it was over. Sorry, dudes.
You know whats the greatest thing with this video. Neal morse was on drums and he does a good job for he is´nt the drummer.. he is just an amazing talent,

Did not know Neil could drum.

Enjoyed that actually, they are just having fun with it, not trying to imitate like tribute bands.

lol the timing is awful, well it's all awful really,
nuff said, as for the so called singer lmfao sounds like my dad after ten pints of snakebite

The singer must be NY Italian like Joey from Friends or Tony from Taxi - a good performer

Not such a bad vocal - but I don't think he gets it - really.
There are many imitators, but only one Phil Collins and his rendition seems unassailable.

NDV is a superior vocalist (and drummer)! No question! And, YES ~ Neal *can* play [virtually] every instrument as his primary. SPOCK'S BEARD ROCKS!

Genisis is one of the most amazing bands in existance. More modern bands should get thier inspirations from older bands like these guys do

Last goo genesis - was then there were three - rest is wank. Gabes as singer and collins on drums and harmony is best

i think nick has a good voice, like here he does Squonk great i think. i just don't like him singing old beard songs. it sounds kinda bad somehow.
and he wasn't collins' replacement for singing, just drumming... and he was a good choice, he's a frickin great drummer.
he needs to go sit down at the kit and stfu, imho.
