A friend of mine and I wanted to commit suicide to this song because it represented what we were lacking in life- Love in it's deepest sincere form. She found a husband and had a baby; I am still alone and I loathe it. I have never experienced a love so true and I am 28 soon. I think I'll include this on the soundtrack to my suicide.

- Loving yourself must come first , someone else can't make you happy . Loving someone who loves you is great -that love has to be in you in order for someone else or equally special to enjoy it . Easier said than done , right ? Loathing loneliness can be overcome by love , its a solution as well as a practice- it takes time !

this idea of an all-consuming romantic love is just that- a romantic idea. contentment fulfillment and joy are very different that this idea. wolowich is right you must first love yourself-sounds cliche- find what you love and accept what you love as valid and pursue them! love your life! do what makes YOU happy no matter if those around you understand or not. you can't live your life for someone else or looking for someone else.

@pisoamarillo You're very right, I agree completely. To the casual observer, I am quite happy and "the life of the party". While I can exude that happiness and love for my friends, no one else ever saunters over to know me deeper than witty banter and the chuckles I provide them. You are both correct in knowing that it is myself that I don't love, and it will indeed take time. Yet, at the edge of despair, I am just not sure loving myself is worth fighting for anymore as the world gets uglier.

when you are happy in your life others will want to share in your joy. they will know you as a person complete doing what they love not someone looking for another person to make them whole. then when two complete, content people connect they can create a bond much stronger, a relationship much more interesting and a romantic love between people who want to be together not people who don't want to be alone. go find what YOU love! :)
