Martin Luther King Jr., you would have changed the world we live in today were you still here. You changed the world back then, and I hope that the man who shot you is going insane realizing that he will be part of the reason that this society is falling apart, that he is part of what you spoke of in this speech. In this desperate hour of need for all of mankind, I pray that you will send us deliverance in some way, and prove that we are nothing but animals ourselves. R.I.P Martin Luther King Jr
"...cannot be reconciled with wisdom, justice and love, Sam Witwicky. My name is Martin Luther Prime. I come from a distant planet called Cybertron. We need your help in retrieving The Cube."
@gtglolrofl Maybe one person can't, and maybe two people can't. But if it's something you belive in strongly, you won't even think that maybe your attempts are futile. You will do it because it's right. And when you fight for good, it never goes to waste. Never.
@LinkinParkTVPwnedYou don't do promotion for something illegal, please the artist work hard to make this, you destroy the music industry, you should be banned from youtube
@Atlis07 its powerful because it is true and its depressing because its what is and has been happening since forever lol humans have always treated eachother horribly without dignity like each is better than the rest instead of treating eachother as equals being kind and humble and loving everyone because the fact is we are on this planet TOGETHER and if we dont change soon we will be an extinct species
The best thing ive heard in a while, am glad Linkin Park have returned!!!! And this song has much to do with what SquallRinoa89 said, people need to remember they are just human beings, no more, no less, lets just follow wisdom , justice and love. Its what differs us from a program, an algorithm, all that were, all that is and all that will be......
This speech by Martin Luther is about how we as human beings are becoming more and more ruthless towards each other. As the song progresses onwards, King's voice becomes increasingly more emotionless and robotic just like we humans are becoming so emotionless to the point that we can do such horrible things, as mentioned in the speech, to each other.
@SquallRinoa89 Oh... that's what it means? All I could think of when listening to this was a Terminator. Seriously, look at a picture of a Terminator while listening to this. Kinda creepy, huh?
im sure you guys knew this but i think the reason his voice goes robot is because the song that plays after this on the album is played in the new transformers movie its an amazing song and and speech
@BunkerDudes you know im not saying that its selfish but other and much MUCH more tragic things have happened but that's the country that we live in only thinks of itself, like the Janjaweed in Africa currently SLAUGHTERING people taking the innocence of children by making them commit horrific acts of genocide, but that's the world we live full of conceded, vain, people blinded by their white picket fence on their yard.
This is a beautiful speech showing how one man can change an entire nation from racist to friendly, loving, and caring. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is a hero to many people someone who stood for what was right and not to get even or for revenge but for peace like or reply to this if you know what I am talking about.
I don't think war would of been so cataclysmic if people weren't so obsessed with evolving weaponry.
Humanity is soo not an evolving species. It's devolving. I hate how people can say "they're the smartest species on Earth". Well at least the other species aren't fucking shooting at each other.
u know when this guy first put up his account i agreed with him. i totally hated the album. that was then this is now and ive completely changed my lind
I don't know if LP wanted to say smth with this song, but if they did, They showed that this speech is still urgent and they showed its importance it in a great way.
imagine this as a video, of martin lurther king standing up at a podeum at a church... then it cross-fades to what he is talking about... (orphans, burning with napalm ect) then as his voice because distorted also does the video. I reckon it would be amazing to see something like that :P
Martin Luther King Jr. is one of those historical figures that I look up to. I hear his words and I can't believe how amazing they are, and then to hear them in a song that I love by a band that I love is priceless
This is the most interesting track I've ever heard. It makes me think of so many things at once. Like the humanity of this world is slowly deteriorating into the machine is was destined to be
when i first heard this song i cried. it was so sad. what king says and how his voice gets distorted is so depressing and it makes you look at humanity's cruelty. i mean, linkin park's never done something like this before. they have a lot of values and deep messages of life for us in this album and i appreciate it, unlike mainstream haters who can't mature from lp's overproduced nu metal sound. but to be honest, i dont think lp knows what theyre doing sometimes when making music
@RetardedAndRandomTV From Hybrid theory to A Thousand Suns, look at the theme of each album, it shows how a person progress in life, a boy so rebellious, to a man who voice out for the world. If listeners, hater or not, are able to see it, they should come to their senses. Linkin Park's songs are more than just music, they are inspirations of life.
Its understanding people like yourself, make the world a better place. I'm now glad, because I know I'm not alone.
Iv'e always hated Linkin Park, then my friend made me listen to this CD when we were driving to school. and i luv it, it's got this crazy awesome twist.
Martin Luther King Jr. was one of the best people this world will ever be graced with. His speeches were powerful and still raise a wonderful or somber feelling in you even after so long
His speeches are also still relevant. Every word of this can still be used to express the situation the world is in. The United States school system needs to study more than just the "I Have A Dream" Speech. They definitely need to cover the "Beyond Vietnam" speech. Just exchange Vietnam for Iraq and you have the same situation. The world is in bad shape, we need to love one another and stop trying to persecute each other for being different.
He is talking about Vietnam. "burning human beings with napalm","sending men home from the dark and bloody battlefields physically handicapped and psychologically deranged". King was against the war.
any one who dis like this video is doomed to a life of stupidity, niglect, blindness, and hate. This is the wisest and smarted person on earth GO MLK Jr. He is the greatest person in history
Every time I listen to this song I try to analyze what the underlying message of it is. I believe that Mr. King's speech is expressing that our conscience becomes tired and frustrated of ongoing wars in our world. No matter how many times we try to convey the feelings of our displeasure towards wars and hate, as time passes, just as with the song, our wisdom, justice and love becomes distorted.

We can try to stop ourselves.. but we will not be able to escape the inevitable..
We cannot stop the tyranny of our leaders nor our greed...
We can try to stop the cries of despair and agony, but it is...too many...
We can wish and attempt we can stop this madness, but it will only lead to a bitter fate...

I come to this magnificent house of worship tonight,
Because my conscience leaves me no other choice.
A true revolution of values will lay hands on the world order and say of war:
This way of settling difference is not just.
This business of burning human beings with napalm,
Filling our nation's homes with orphans and widows,
Of injecting poisonous drugs of hate into veins of people normally humane.
