  • @ gargos Yes thats a Guinness bottle opener to have a couple brews while playing retro games.

  • is that a bottle opener to the side of the coin slots? that's hilariously awesome

  • song name?

  • Either I'm really stupid or you're a genious. Either way this is the best MAME cabinet I have ever seen. Can't hate on this. You can only wish you had one.

  • hey bro how much did you spent in all this... i wanna make my own cabinet. Please reply... thanks

  • @er1ck194 I would say about about 500 bones..But you can always hide this fact from the wife if you just buy a part at a time per paycheck..hehehe..If I were you, do what I did which is PLAN, PLAN, and PLAN.. Again do your homework..Do this and you can't go wrong..This took me about 5 months to build because I work up to 12 hours a day..If you get stuck on how to do something..STOP!!..Take a breather, search around the web for info, and think about it. My design is simplistic but effective..

  • how did you make the speakers light up

  • @TheNews1990 I bought those speakers with the led's already built in at Wal-Mart..Secret to power them just take an old sound system from an old computer and run the speaker cables to your new "Car Speakers"..They are the same ohms..And then to power the Led's I went to a 2nd hand store that sold wall warts @ 12 volts and ran the circuit in paralell..Electronics 101..

  • @vaqueromuerto I just found out they might mess up my light gun so I prob wont get them

  • Great looking cabinet, congrats!

  • "20 trips to Lowes" I know that all to well myself. cool cabinet

  • very cool ive just made a new mame machine will put a video on here when its done

  • Did anyone actually hate on you for the look of this machine? cause if so they're nuts... This looks way better than a lot of the machines at my local arcade. I'm sure it has a lot more functionality too, I'd have to say looks pretty damn sweet to me!

  • You'd be surprised!!..If you scroll down you can see that there are negative people out there..But, I consider the source..When they build a MAME machine thats better than mine thats when their opinion counts to me..VM-out!

  • Nice cab. I wish the pictures could have been clearer though. Do you have a website or blog with the construction? Overall, great job! Check out my cabinet when you have a chance.

  • I agree with you there on the pictures being more clear..I used my wife's digital camera on most but then used my kids camera on the "blurry" pics..I had as much fun building it as I do playing it actually..Its better up close and personal and the screen size is fine when you're playing it..Everyone who see's it goes "You built this?" and I say "yeah"..I built it from the ground up..VM-out!

  • I don't think it's the camera. Just use a tripod with a timer. You'll see huge differences with the same camera. BTW, check out my cabinet and see what you think. search for "64bit arcade cabinet"

  • Also to all the haters out there..Unless you build from scratch a MameMachine, your opinion of mine counts very little..When you show me your's and its better (like Trixter or Ern) I will respect your opinion..VM-out!

  • So I had to make it look like it worked..I borrowed a screw remover from one of the mechanics I work with and couldn't find a replacement screw..Its not a standard screw metric or standard that hold the coin mechs in place..Weird huh?..I then hacked a wall wort with a 12 volt power supply and put the power on a barrier strip from Radio Shack..I wired it in paralell (Electronics 101) and used it to power the LED's..

  • I had the most problems with stupid stuff building this..Like finding a 1/16 inch slot cutting router bit to mount the T-moulding..I had to order it through the internet..Lowes, Home Depot, and OSH do not carry those bits..Also I had problems with the coin door..I bought a used coin door off E-bay only to find when I tried to take it apart and touch it up that the screws that hold the coin mechs in place are a different screw altogether and couldn't find any since the ones I used were stripped..

  • is it a 19' lcd or arcade monitor?

looks good, i like your joystick panel i would have liked to have done mine that way but was lost on the wiring so i got a x arcade tankstick

check my arcade out, let me know what you think

  • Its a standard 19" computer monitor it looks small in the pic but up close in personal the screen size is fine..VM

  • I've got to agree with you there..A design flaw..But it does have a 19" monitor and a larger monitor was out of my budget..So in hindsight I would've used a larger monitor but like I said I'm a trucker not Donald Trump and I don't have large amounts of cash falling out my backside..VM
