It's because of people like that that I feel ashamed to be part of this fanbase. I like Sonic, both the Classics and the Modern games. They're all fun, just different. I guess some people really are unpleasable, but I guess I'll still go forward and enjoy Sonic games, because they still give me as much fun as the first games did.

Wow really? I don't like Sonic 4 very much mostly because it's not 16-bit, but I did see what fans will achieve by doing that. If you want to boycott Sonic 4 why get any Sonic games at all. If Sega sees that they are not earning a lot of money from Sonic games then surely they’ll think about doing something 100% right for a change in a Sonic game. If Retro Megaman/Rockman fans can get Megaman 9 and 10 in the NES/Famicom 8-bit design, why shouldn't the Retro Sonic fans get a Sonic game like Sonic 4 thats identical to the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive 16-bit games, character designs, names and all?
The people who don't care about the retro design either where not born in that time of the retro Sonic games or just plain don't care.
They are mad that Sega is completely ignoring the designs of the other games in the series.
It goes far beyond Sonic's design, it also includes Robotnik/Eggman's design, his name, the HUD design not being nowhere near the other games in the series, the boosters, ect.
It just isn't anywhere near similar to the other games in the Sonic the hedgehog series, thats why the fanbase and the Retros aren't accepting it.
how is Sega ignoring the designs? The design of the game still looks retro and they're bringing alot of stuff back fom the older games but with a graphic upgrade. If they don't like the name Eggman then continue to call him Robotnik. Eggman is his real name in japan so I don't think thats going to changed. Well, it starts off with a "Hill" level with checker squares in a non-city enviroment in 2D sidescrolling while collecting rings, going through loops, jumping on robots of animals (rebuilt ones so they're DEFINATELY the same) and there's no dialogue. Pretty same to me.

They are mad that Sega is completely ignoring the designs of the other games in the series.
It goes far beyond Sonic's design, it also includes Robotnik/Eggman's design, his name, the HUD design not being nowhere near the other games in the series, the boosters, ect.
It just isn't anywhere near similar to the other games in the Sonic the hedgehog series, thats why the fanbase and the Retros aren't accepting it.

If they don't like the name Eggman then continue to call him Robotnik. Eggman is his real name in japan so I don't think thats going to changed. All I see is a bunch of whining cause the retro fans wants the game to exactly like the genesis games. They should be grateful that Sega is making an 2D game finally.

Well, it starts off with a "Hill" level with checker squares in a non-city enviroment in 2D sidescrolling while collecting rings, going through loops, jumping on robots of animals (rebuilt ones so they're DEFINATELY the same) and there's no dialogue. Pretty same to me.

That's no different dude, there are no other playable characters,No boosts pads crappily thrown all over the levels(YAY original level designer from Sonic 3 And Knuckles).The physics aren't the same(because it has classic gameplay).And none of us have played it so how would you know if it plays like a Sonic Advance game anyway?People need to stop jumping on the band wagon and saying this shit just because other people do it.

The retro fans want a retro game with new or modern elements (Think Megaman 9 or 10),
