Classic! The 19th century, at the dawn of the modern age, when there were pith helmets and union jacks to be seen in every port and land around the globe, when the white man ruled the world, when things were right!
They don't make movie trailers like this anymore. Too bad! Just as Basil Rathbone was the best Sherlock Holmes, Raymond Burr the best Perry Mason, David Niven IS Phineas Fogg!
I do have the opportunity of seen cantinflas movies as well as Chaplins they are both awesome on their own right, but cantinflas is hilarious in every single Spanish speaking movie he made at the point of tears, and this is although not a Spanish speaking movie one of his best performances, certainly his best in English the award nominations given speak for themselves.
Nice! This movie was American/Hollywood..directed by Michael Todd..it took place in many contries...Yup Cantinflas the world most popular comic of all times..this movie got em a Golden Globe award and was nominated for the Oscars in that year.
If you can´t speak spanish you may don´t know how great was Cantinflas, But really really is at least the best comic in the history considered by spanish speakers community. Greetings from Mexico to all the world

Because the movie was very famous in Latin America. Mario Moreno "Cantinflas" is iconic..like say, Groucho Marx or Chaplin, probably even more. I recommend you reading his Wikipedia entry.
I'll give you a logical explanation. It seems as if everybody is giving you a hard time for your valid question. This movie; "Around the World in 80 Days" is a movie with a Latin/European Icon who's name is Cantinflas. He is in this movie, and he won several awards; Golden Globes, Oscars etc. for it. Even though he made countless movies Internationaly, this movie is the only American movie he was in but received high recognition. This will explain the large amount of Spanish comments.
european ??? dude what u talkin about,, cantinflas is from Mexico ..born and raised in a poor mexican town at the time, till he moved to mexico city..and he is one of the pioneers of mexican cinema

(Uncle It = tío Cosa).

I Love classic movies, damn those were the times when TRUE ACTORS were the essence of what HOLLYWOOD represents. Unlike now in days. CANTIFLAS pura calidad!!!
i was in union square in nyc a few months back, and they had a huge bin of 10.00 dvds... i bought up a ton of old movies. and this was one of them... i was very hesitant at first to watch it, but when i finally did... i was so happy! love this film. and i think everyone should buy/watch it! and im 22, so its highly recommended to the younger generations.
