  • Great Video. It compares the sounds of the acceleration of the two types of the ALP-46 electric locomotives.

  • Dang thats fast lol!

  • I love theses trains when I fan at Newark it's all alp46as and soon we are going to get the alp45 as well can't wait on how it'll sound and great video!

  • My goodness, that is some fast acceleration.

  • alright guys me and my friend went to go video tape at chatham train station to try to catch the new ALP-46 A and of course we get there and guess what happends, the fricken thing breaks down at the station right nxt to us, i always get unucky, great video though man but i cant wait to get my own of the new ones

  • this typical sound(s) of this newest IGBT-controlled ALP-46A traction equipment is a derivation from Pulse-With-controlled RCT-thyrisor Choppers introduced in both Belgian Locomotives and Dutch The Hague Articulated GTL8 Trams from 1970 onwards early pioneering in Power Electronics.

Innovation tarted by ACEC/BN = Bombardier Bruges, not Siemens!

  • now that accelerated fast

  • 0:08 like a loud similarity to the sound the arrows make

  • Nice catch. These will take over all of the multilevel sets on the NEC, NJCL, M&E. The ALP46s will be put on the single levels. and the Alp44s will be retired. These ALP46As will also be on the ACES.

  • @trainzrok wrong

  • @TEMPLE7D wrong? whadda u mean?

  • @trainzrok probably about the ACES thing...well no one knows at this point.... but to be honest, they'll probably put the dual modes on the ACES...

  • @FanRailer well the dual modes aren't gonna be here for at LEAST another year. I heard that info from someone in the MMC.(meadowlands maitenence complex)

  • @FanRailer really?but is NJTALP46A are use for the NJT ACES train too?i would love to see it.

  • @56yuoi nope, just the 44's

  • @FanRailer oh ok, and now i know that both NJT ACES are at the MMC during the week.

  • @trainzrok lol, the alp-46a's will be place on single level's to provide faster service on those train

  • @trainzrok 2 questions where does 2 the NJT ACES go after service to NYC on sunday? and when is the NJT ALP46A are going to be use on the NJT ACES?

  • @56yuoi they lay up at the MMC. and probably never,

  • @FanRailer oh because i thought the NJT ALP-44 are going to retire.

  • @56yuoi after the last ALP-46A comes in (4664) only 3 ALP-44s will be left and will be used for ACES.

  • @trainfan1143 yeah that is true. the NJT ALP-44 is going to be used for the NJT ACES.

  • @trainfan1143 Are they all ready scraped?

  • @P40BH i know they are retired from all other services except ACES . Ive seen recent videos of almost ALL of them in an NJT yard. Maybe NJT decided to use all of them for ACES, but I dont know.

  • Does this locomotive have motor blower engines and what do they sound like?

  • Propulsion definitely is the sound of Siemans Propulsion found on the R160B!!!! Nice sound to it!

  • okay cool 5 stars

  • Kind of sounds like an R142A starting up at one point.

  • @TimeQueenofRome That's the original ALP-46 4601 in the back...

  • @FanRailer Actually, I think it sounded more like a cross between an R142A and an R160B Siemens train. I've heard those sounds somewhere.

  • @FanRailer 4600 is the original

  • awesome video there son you are so lucky to see the new alp-6a with a comet coach set keep them coming dude

  • @hamstertrain18 Thanks man, I try my best
