Nice one mate really interesting technique I did manage to get Steve Turre to talk about the shells a few years back but i dig what you are doing too all the best to you
Wow. Incredibly impressive. I've never seen someone pull notes out of a conch so accurately. Props man, your focus and practice have paid off. I want to hear that helmet man. My conch is about the same size as the one you played in this video, but I want to hear that monster. I was looking to buy a huge one. Hopefully I get to hear it in Pt. 2!
dude you're killing me with the pronunciation. The ch is a k. As in Loch Ness Monster. Not ch as in church. Some other have phonetically spelled it out as "konk" which is a good way to think about it.
You play very well....And your video is very helpful for someone wanting to play the conch well. But Please....Pronounce "Conch" properly...It is pronounced " KONK " here in the Keys where I live and throughout the Caribbean where the conch lives. I might add....The conch is one of the finest meats you could stuff in your mouth....Thanks for the post.
Thank you, this video is a great wealth of information. Can you make a video on how to blow a really long note. P.s I have no musical skills but like to experment with my conch shell. I will never play in public but your information has help me....alot... I used Dons videos to make my conch, now I can use your videos to learn how to play them. Thank you.
Interesting video, your piano is out of tune... Even in equal temperment, its pretty out. Equal temperment is never in tune, everything is equally out of tune. It's a compromise tuning system, consider standard just or true tone tuning.
Thank you, Don Easter, for all that you do and have done in the past. So much depends, Mr. Easter, on a red wheelbarrow, covered with rain. May your cup be filled! and if it is full already, may it be again!

These videos are fantastic. I have been playing French horn for 8 years now, and I recently wanted to pick up Conch.
Thanks, man.
