Love the white girl speaking, like she ever picked up a kid from a "squat" and brought him/her home for a hot meal and a clean bed. Social Services is full of kind heart-ed people who decided to accept low-pay and a rough job just because they wanted to make a small difference in kids lives. We can't save everyone, but those who care TRY. btw, I AM that kinda middle class raised, skinny white chick with more words than action. But I'll always have a futon and a meal for kids in need. Maybe somebody on here can explain to me y these kids aren't ready to go out into the world when they turn 18. My mother taught me everything I needed to know to take care of myself before I left home. I was kicked out of my house by my parents the summer I graduated. When I have hard times they don't let me move back in. My daughter is 10 and already knows how to do laundry, take care of her personal needs, and how to pump gas and take care of our truck. Why aren't the foster parents teach-

Transitional living program? HUH? Never heard a thing about it when I aged out of foster care. Ridiculous that there are so many kids who do not get any kind of support, guidance, etc. once they turn 18.
