You can actually climb up to ALMOST the top of the volcano with the jump jets on hovercraft. The trick is to find the right slope and keep pumping the jump as you go up the hill. Watch out though because you can fall into a pit in the middle of the mountain that you must reload to get out of. Just remember that. If you can get to the top of the volcano you can get like 10 or so pearls. So many up there.

@jebes909090 I'm starting to miss this game a lot and I'm about ready to play it again, so I'll try a bunch of jets on the volcano next time. I love adventure games, but I love breaking them too, I am kind of a horrible person. :} I'll watch out for that stupid pit too!

Here's my question. While going straight to the Slaughterhouses is fine, have you tried messing around with the glitch more? It seems like there's some amusing untapped potential here. Who comments when you run into things? Who shows up in your pause menu? If you stand around for a while, who nags you about buying the pearl detector? Who screeches when you enter a Looter's Cavern? I may just start a new file for the sole purpose of experimenting with this thing... XP

That's a really good question. I'll admit I didn't experiment a lot outside of just the requirements to film this vid.. I can make a lot of assumptions, but really I don't know what would happen! And hopefully that isn't a bad thing because I wouldn't want glitch-lovers to pass up replicating glitches because they've already watched too much footage about them anyway.. exploring is all the fun, so hey, lemme know what you do with this, maybe even post some stuff. :}

I don't have the PC version, but I may find a way to post some shakycam footage. I'll either have to bug my buddy Glenn about using his Wii or commandeer the TV in the rec room at my dorm, though, because my TV is out of commission right now... :P

Lo! RESULTS so far!

-Pause screen didn't change..

-On the "missions" screen, the "buy Cannon" mission appeared, but the text was garbled.

-Going toward the S.houses permanently put "Invisible nagging HH" in my party. Even when I left the secured zone, he continued to bug me about the mission I didn't even know about yet. Mei e-mailed me about it, too.

-Looter's Caverns--curiously silent! Only banging into a door prompted a peanut gallery comment from HH.

Pretty cool! When I went back to my save associated with this vid, I didn't find nearly all this stuff! But yeah most of what I noticed were 'HH naggings' and I did get a screenshot of the weird hex-ish 'you need to buy a cFFFFF' associated with the skipped cannon. Eagerly waiting to hear what else you find! User TI2ophy's comments seem to indicate you can actually finish the game this way.

Wait,I did the "early shed trick",too,but I got now 14 pearls and I don't know where the other two pearls are.I got -3 from the animal fotographing thingy -2 buyed (nouri,ming tzu) -2 hovercraft races -1 against the sea monster -1 chase -1 win against the guy in the akuda bar -1 pearl from rufus -1 from the black isle -1 from the "transit" sidequest -1 from the "early shed" thats 14 in total (with the first pearl 15,but it's sold of course.) can you help me?

I checked my SAC and I had pearls 1 through 17 all filled in. Can you tell me which pearls you don't have? I'll try and remember.

Ah,now I know,I forgot the cave where you get the pearl from a Vorax.Thanks anyway,now I have 15 pearls to buy the jump kit.^^

BTW, you do know you don't even need to buy the cannon? I know glitches to drive over landscapes with hovercraft. It's in my BGE playlist!

I hope to get up a hovercrafting vid for every island on Hillys eventually (except maybe Mammago's, since I haven't figured that one out yet). I may try a complete playthrough without ever buying the cannon, but I'll be pretty sick of BG&E by the time I'm done with these. XD

Can it be done? It might work on PC or another console, but the vid shows my PS2 getting confused and freezing since I didn't rescue Double H.
