I can't think for one moment why anyone would burn down this iconic building that embelished the heart of Tameside. If anything it was a flaw of the material and fire safety that was at fault. A shame that it burnt down i loved that place and the new market hall is good and by sheer accident has brought back some of what we had. Long live this market hall.
Probably set on purpose for the council or some one high up, like Gorton tub was. Sadly the powers that be here in the UK can do that and no one says anything. It makes you wonder about other things such as terror attacks...
sad day , My mums best shoes were on there and she was gonna give them me , they were soo nice aswel , they did give here her money back and some money to buy some nwe ones
is the game market still in there run buy adam let me know and ifyou know adam let him know i said hello tell him shane robins mate paul , always used to be in there
yeah unfortunately i thought i could make a quick buck out of it and only got £50 but better in my pocket than theirs lol. I should have given it to the BBC they would have taken care of it more.
yeah went inside and met the market manager he was so grateful for the dvd i gave him. It was great to go back in and you can almost reorientate yourself with the stalls being somewhat in the same place as before, amazing.

I got very emotional watching this video, I'm just glad that the building was saved and is now open as a market once again.
