The last time I watched a Gino Hernandez match on WCCW was 27 years ago...but here I am watching him now on youtube. He made that kind of long-lasting impression in a run cut entirely too short.
I simply HATE seeing WWF logo on this clip. Gino Hernandez & Chris Adams, Eddie Guerrero, Iceman King Parsons,The Freebirds, Scott Casey, Shawn Micheals ALL Classic WCCW and SWCW, when WWF was sucking wind to get ratings and TALENT!. Thsnks for the memories with this one Texas wrestling @ it's finest..
this time is wrestling will never come again..it's all been downhill since 2002..the attitude era made a little resurgence..but sadly the last 10 years have been horrible..
I am YOUR champion, a line from one of the best ,badass heels ever. Gino Hernandez was in my opinion one of the greatest all time heels. You either love him or hate him, either way you couldnt deny his natural talent, charisma and athleticism. All the things it takes to be one of the greats. It sucks his life was cut short from drugs or whatever.Could you imagine Gino being mentored by Tully Blanchard an accepted as a horseman that would have been bad ass, but we can only imagine.RIP Gino
I loved this guy,he was one of my favorites, and still is. I think that he was more of a superstar than many so called stars today.Rest in peace, you are missed, even now.
I remember seeing him and Chris Adams on TV back in 1987 when I was was in Texas for a short stay. He reminded me of a very young Ric Flair, a latin Nature Boy, if you will. He had a certain kind of ring presence that wrestling fans recognize immediatly. Young, cocky, charismatic heels like Bret Hart, Shawn MIchaels, Eddie Guerrero, and of course, Ric Flair have always brought in the fans. Gino could have been big, real big. RIP.
SHAME ABOUT ALOT OF WRESTLERS WHO PASSED GINO CHRIS ADAMS BRUISER BRODY BOTH BAM BAMS OWEN HART CANDIDO DR DEATH THE VON ERICHS DINO BRAVO MR PERFECT RICK RUDE EDDY G BENOIT
Gino Hernandez was one of the all time greats. He really needs to be in the hall of fame. Had he lived, he could have been whatever he wanted to be in wrestling. Gino talked the talk and walked the walk as well.
gino hernandez was one of the all time best heel wrestlers ever! he was great doing interviews and had he not pass away at such a early age, i think he would have probably have been a member of the 4 horsemen because of his friendship with tully blanchard. gino would also would have made a great nwa world champion. we will always miss the handsome halfbreed and yes he is my champion!!
