  • why wont my chilean rose tarantula wont eat

  • @alex62293

    its normal, they fast

  • @Jon3800 Is it because they are in pre-molt i like all your vids

  • is it because its in pre-molt?

  • @alex62293

not necessarily Alex. It is the nature of the species... these are very slow growing species. It doesn't take much to feed them and there are times where they just stop eating food completely. This is very normal behavior. I even have 1 of mine that refused food for nearly 2 months now.

  • @Jon3800 it was in pre-molt because it molted like a month ago so yeah thanks for the reply tho

  • @Jon3800 its because it was in pre-molt because like a month later it molted and i like to feed hoppers best i think they are for me

  • @Jon3800 thats nothin mine went like 8 months with out eating

  • It's so horrible

  • @6MBC

what's horrible about this? At least its better than giving mice to them. This is my hobby

  • @Jon3800 Sorry but i verry don't like spider.

  • hey man, i was thinking about gettting a tarantula. when i go on a site to purchase one, they measure them in inches? is that how big they are? or how long their legs are? thanks

  • @PhilippineMachine024

the measurements on the website are the sizes they have in stock, so yes, that's how they big they are.

  • ok thnx also how u get so many t's wow lol do u study t's or just love ts?

  • my love for Ts

  • haha the crickets did wat the were ment to do get eaten XD haha maybe theyw anted to look good on cam. also do u really need a lid for ur tarantula tank? (glass)

  • tarantulas are very good climbers as well as great escape artists. And they're very active especially during the nighttime so you defintely need to keep it covered and locked

I had one of my tarantula's escape on me because the lid wasn't closed properly

  • I know but afterward when they are done slurping the blood, doesn't the body remain in the little container. And if it does, then does it just stay there?

  • some parts like the legs might still be there. I usually remove dead prey, because its a breeding ground for mites

  • what happens to the crickets body afterward?

  • When a tarantula attacks the cricket like you see in the video, the fangs inject venom where it paralyzes it and liquefies the body. And the spider just slurps it up, like you would a smoothy or stew.

  • i respect this, she is the queen

  • i am looking for an online site i can buy fake plants for my t's from , do you know any ?

  • dollar store

  • Could you list some substrates that are suitable for a chilean rose?

  • eco-terra for reptiles. They're like a big block of earth that you can find at the petstore or inorganic potting soil (plant store)mixed separately with vermiculite (aslso plant store)

  • Fascinating video, thanks! You seem to know a lot about tarantulas. I have an Avicularia avicularia which is is 13+ years and has not been well since a bad molt. After a week and 2 visits to the spider ICU, I have considered euthanasia via freezer, but I am having a difficult time making the decision. What is your philosophy on euthanasia when it comes to your pet tarantulas?

  • one of the best ways, sorry to hear that happen
