  • @dvsn23 Actually, that post is correct. Arching a back is tantamount to a decline press. That's why power-lifters, in competition, DO that - because it's a bit easier that a flat bench and generates higher numbers.

    Just because competitions allow this as a form doesn't mean what he's saying is incorrect.

  • Sure a big weight for the her size etc but IMHO she's got poor posture on the bench, totally arched back (her butt actually totally lifts off the plank tch tch) compensating for extra weight and therefore reducing the focus on the muscle group she was aiming for....perhaps wear a belt, reduce the weight, flatten your back to the bench and focus on a perfect form for a full compression (down) and full extension (up) and get better results without as much risk of injury....

I just started working out 5 weeks ago and it's people like you who motivate me to push through the burn and get through the workout and on to the next one.
